Dax McCarty wants out of FC Dallas
Buzz Carrick has learned that Dax McCarty wants out of Dallas, but it seems that there isn't much interest. Dax has played on the U-20 and U-23 US National Teams.
A midfielder that has been deployed in a holding role. He was named to the Best XI by CONCACAF's technical study group after Olympic qualifying.
Dax had a reasonable salary last season of 45.5k/58k.
Should Sounders FC look into acquiring a young talented player such as Dax? He has 26 starts and 21 substitution appearances for his club in MLS and Superliga play with 1 goal and 13 assists. He had a +/- of 2 in all competitions last season with a GAA of 1.45 which was 3rd worst amongst FCD regulars.
Current best holding mids would be Vagenas (11GS/2subs) and Sturgis (1GS/1sub). With a likely diamond 4 or diamond 5 I don't think counting on those two would be a good idea.
Thoughts?

Buzz says that there is little to no evidence that Dax is about to be dealt to San Jose despite the Ives rumor.
In the 11v11 scrimmage today Seattle started the following 2 players at CDM – Nate Sturgis and Zach Scott. It would seem likely that Nik Besagno came on as a CDM as well.
Today both scrimmage squads played 3-4-3 and so the CDM is a VITAL role.

We must strengthen our back line before we start worrying about mids.
