Canada's best player to return home?

Canada's likely best active player of the sport, Julian de Guzman is being tempted home to Toronto and the FC there. He is on a free and being offered the DP slot and in effect an 8M$ deal. Last in La Liga, JdG would immediately change the face of TFC to the de and de show.

Keller = 300k
Donavan = 900k
McBride = 360k

MLSE (TFC's owner) seems to want to make a splash. A very big one, but it is clear in a league of haves and nots, at least one club is going to bring their top national team player home.

Should the US clubs with open DP slots try to bring guys like Adu, Beasley and others back even if it means blowing any/all profits and cutting useful players to fit them in the cap?

I think it would be great for the league. Although, I was thinking we might get Toronto’s DP Slot. Players from our National team will not come back here, even for more money. They want to play in the best leagues. We need to concentrate on bringing up the youth and bringing in qualified players from europe like Ljundberg. To me this is where the league can learn, just how off they are. Guys like Ljunberg are going to let everyone know what is different. Also, Dave. Have you heard any more rumblings about us getting another DP? Any more news on who might be available?

Have you seen Adu or Beasley play lately? Those guys would be lucky to make that kind of money.

This would be awesome for the league. I love Julian de Guzman and he has a lot to offer MLS. (Does seem like a lot of money, but who am I to judge?)
