Key CCL matchups tonight
Fox Soccer Channel carried the PR v Saprissa match, where you saw the more talented side pull a tie in the final moments.
Right now you can watch Houston host Pachuca. Houston lowered their prices for this match (5$ for the endlines) in order to get a bit of a crowd. It didn't work.
The Panamanian visitors currently lead the Group. The other members of the group also play tonight.
Sounders are two matches from CCL Group play next year. Houston doesn't have their "starters" tonight, but are using a mix of starters and rotationals. Last year they were the best of MLS in the CCL. This year they likely are as well.
As an MLS fan are you hoping that Houston does well?

Árabe Unido is already down (1-0) due to poor keeper play.

At half Houston is clearly the better team. They have the lead, but they have also purely played better. Even without Ching and Landin (cup tied) they have dominated.
My memory says that Arabe has two yellows already as well.

Houston now up 2-1 and up a man.
Correction 3-1 as Corey Ashe with the quick response

Great result for the MLS. I don’t understand why they can’t get more fans for the game. It’s a chance to watch your team compete for something international and you would think that it is at-least something entertaining to go to. I am still trying to get a grip on the lack of interest in the Concacaf C.L.

Dynamo have been known for selective marketing. They didnt really market this game. It seems they are promoting next weeks game vs rival Pachuca. I am sure the rain and the weekday 9PM kickoff didnt hurt. The 30k stadium can really swallow a 7k crowd as well.
Also, to be honest, CONCACAF games suck when it comes to the little extras. No pregame or halftime performances. CONCACAF is in control of the video boards, they dont even allow national anthems.
Im not trying to make excuses because i was embarassed at the crowd quite frankly. Please tune in next week as I feel it will be totally different.

Rex, thanks for the local report. Not allowing national anthems in a purely international event is plain stupid.
