This is a game that only matters for seeding, well and that little bit of pride available by finally beating Chivas USA in league play - or let's start smaller, scoring on them. Seeding would be nice, but I think Seattle's Front Office wants to show an improvement over 2009 in the points on the table, and a win does that.
How does Seattle get that win to pass last year's point total?
1 - Use flank speed - Steve Zakuani and Sanna Nyassi are abusing the fullbacks on the other side. Continue feeding them so their deep cuts can force a centerback to drop into the six and leave either Blaise Nkufo or Fredy Montero with space and singular defense.
2 - Watch Pablo Nagamura - We just talked about the different kinds of mids. Nagamura can be any of them, and good no matter where. Expect to see him as a tough tackler (prone to fouling), but also up top in attack providing offense.
3 - Score Two Early - Not just so that Seattle can coast, which does have the added benefit of helping them not push to an injury, but also so that Seattle gets the "can't score against Zach Thornton" gorilla off their back. Plus two early probably means that Montero was involved.
