Any issues to communicate to ownership?

The Council is compiling our latest communication to the ownership group and I thought I would reach out and ask for your suggestions/questions as well.

All I know at this time is I am going to continue to talk about #TrophiesNotFriendlies (which RSL adopted as a semi-official slogan), and Away Support for Cascadia derbies.

What else?

vuvuzelas

I had the USOC final nearly ruined by a kid blowing one right over my three-year-old’s head. Also, yell at them for the Halloween night playoff game, even though there’s probably nothing they could do about it.

The team

can’t really do anything about it when ESPN and the league decides day and time.

we had that issue last year

Went with an early game time and trick or treat at the stadium but it was a hard sell for us. I congratulate you guys on having such a open relationship with your front office, it is a great thing for them to work in partnership with the fans to deliver the best possible product.

by denz on Oct 20, 2010 1:38 PM PDT up reply actions

Honestly, the vuvuzelas need to die.

I understand that they’re a fad and fads tend to die on their own, but in this case, as long as it lingers, if you’re unlucky enough to sit near one of the idiots blowing these things, it can ruin a game. They need to be gone, immediately. Shouldn’t be too tough, because I really think 90 percent of the supporters cannot stand them (the people blowing them tend to be ones who go to one game or so and the people who get annoyed tend to be season ticket holders), but why wait for them to hopefully go away when a simple banning can remove them immediately?

by mistuhp on Oct 20, 2010 4:46 PM PDT up reply actions

i hate vuvuselas as much as the next guy, but...

i think they should be reserved for the corner kick area, to use against the opposing team of course.

by hormd on Oct 21, 2010 12:13 AM PDT up reply actions

since you ask

1) don’t expend all-important political capital on something as frivolous as banning vuvuzelas. Yeah, no-one likes them. I also know that as obstinate as this F.O. is they will use the banning against us. Trust me, every time we whine about how they don’t listen to us they’ll come back with “but we banned vuvuzelas like you asked.” Don’t waste what little we have to get them to listen on something that is going to take care of itself over time…
2) meeting time needs to be spent on the Cascadia Derby away supporters issue… I mean for the love of #$%@ slap some sense into these mthrfckrs!!!!!
3) If you ask me, the single most regrettable decision made by the Sounders this year were those yellow kits. I mean that. Yes, a CLOSE #2 was the friendly situation, SPECIFICALLY the Chivas friendly, but you don’t want to waste time and verbiage on a problem that is already sorting itself out. FOR THE LOVE OF &*#$! please, I NEVER want to see those horrible things again, and please give us the tasteful and classy NASL-era throwback third kit!

Those kits were classy. Not everyone agrees with you, and actually they make an awesome cycling jersey.

I'm not sure there's much use railing against the yellows now (season is over)

But I agree with your point about a throw back third kit. Somebody did a great mock up of them at some point. If adidas can refrain from littering it with a bunch of graphical background noise then I think it’d be a great idea.

USOC Ticketing at Qwest

A small complaint of mine was the way they handled ticketing for the US Open Cup final at Qwest. Can they do better at ensuring season ticket holders have the right of first refusal for their own seats for any soccer match not included in the season ticket package?

Other than that, I think they’re doing a great job.

by ryanhealy on Oct 20, 2010 12:52 PM PDT reply actions

I liked the way they handled OC

For the Metapan game they gave right of first refusal, and it created big holes in the seating because season ticket holders didn’t buy in.

Plus as a 300 level season ticket holder, they either would have to open up the 300 level, or give us a fair shot at tickets just like every other season ticket holder.

by rabadash on Oct 20, 2010 2:31 PM PDT up reply actions

Timing

Giving season ticket holders the right of first refusal doesn’t have to cause the problems you described above. It’s a timing issue and I think there’s a way to manage it without having blocks of tickets go unsold. For instance, they could allow season ticket holders 72 hours to purchase their seats before they go on sale to the general public. They just need to set a policy and make sure it’s communicated clearly.

The reason the Sounders gave me as to why it wasn’t handled the same way as the CONCACAF matches was because they “didn’t have enough time.” That’s a poor excuse — it wouldn’t have taken much planning to at least communicate in advance how the ticketing would work much less allow a day or two for season ticket holders to buy their seats if they wanted.

I think they received enough feedback that it won’t be an issue going forward.

by ryanhealy on Oct 20, 2010 6:00 PM PDT up reply actions

Yeah

but they did block out seats for Metapan like you said and gave the season ticket holders first right of refusal for a week or so(I don’t remember exactly how long), and it still messed up the seating. It wouldn’t be a problem if it was a sellout, but the early concacaf games never will be. Now I don’t claim to know why, but obviously the front office saw that and then ceased doing it for a reason.

Also, you didn’t address my concern about the 300 level season ticket holders. If they don’t open up the 300 level for USOC and CONCACAF, what seats are they going to hold for those season ticket holders to buy?

by rabadash on Oct 20, 2010 7:44 PM PDT up reply actions

Not a complicated issue

Heh. I don’t see any issue with giving season ticket holders 48 to 72 hours to purchase their own seats before opening up tickets to the public. What you saw at Metapan weren’t blocks of unsold tickets but blocks of unused tickets. There’s a difference.

As for the 300-level seating, I don’t have a solution for that but I’m sure the Sounders and Qwest Field, whose job it is to figure this stuff out, can come up with something.

The bottom line is that I simply want the chance to buy my season ticket seats for USOC and other matches. It worked great for CONCACAF, it can work for USOC, too.

by ryanhealy on Oct 22, 2010 10:44 PM PDT up reply actions

Totally agree on this.

Plus, the notice they sent out did not reveal that ticketing had changed, or that seats were now first come first served. Actually telling us about the change up front should have been a no-brainer.

Sounders F.O. pleases me.

Compared to how the other teams in this city treat their fans, the Sounders F.O. is superior in every way. Having said that, my only beef would be the friendlies. I want them to focus on winning silverware instead of meaningless reserve matches. Have one stellar friendly. Man U/ Real Madrid /Inter Milan, etc. One friendly with a world class opponent. I know I’m not alone on this one.

Real Pre-Season Friendlies

Since we are going to move to 1 friendly in the season I would like to see some preseason friendlies. I went to the preseason match against the Timbers and I thought it was a great way to see some of the new talent they were evaluating.

I’d like to see them bring in the USL champs from this year or the Montreal Impact for a preseason friendly. Maybe they can bring in a good team from a leagues that uses the same season as us for a friendly match.

Ticketing in general

I’d like to know if they could introduce a choice when purchasing UOC, CCL, or playoff tickets. As the owner of a pair of season tickets, I would have liked to have upped my order whenever given the chance to purchase these tickets. It would have been nice to have a choice between keeping my season ticket seats or buying more tickets in another area. I renewed for the playoff game, but probably would have surrendered my season ticket seats and ordered the max (i.e., 8) in another section if I had been given the chance at the onset. Surely there are areas that are zoned for non-season ticket holders. I would have appreciate the option to pick up tickets in those areas.

It’d be interesting to hear what their thoughts are on opening up the Hawk’s Nest next year. I’d like to hear who they want to put in there. I’d love it if they moved another supporter group up there. I want to see tifos on both ends of the field. :D

Sounders Intro

This has always bugged me, and from what I hear alot of sounders fans, that when the sounders are getting ready to walk on the field Qwest field plays an intro song. There’s nothing wrong with the song, but the timing ruines the drum/“Aye” Chant. It would be much more intense and appropriate if they would not play the audio mid chant. I would just like to see the chant play all the way through without interuption, I can imagine it intimidating the opposition. Thanks!

My 2 cents...

and as a very new soccer fan, that’s really all it’s worth. But, the only issue that I think we fans should be really interested in is the away seats for the derby. We need the FO to know that we don’t want them to just match what POR and VAN do, but to show leadership on the issue.

by Threeball on Oct 20, 2010 1:40 PM PDT reply actions

Splitting STH accounts is the only real issue I have

I mentioned this a little while ago but figured I’d put it down again. I am a season ticketholder. I have a seat, my buddy has a seat. To make things easy, we just did a single account to get both seats. The problem is that because of this I have zero control over my own seat, I don’t get any updates from the FO/team/whatever through email or regular mail, I can’t vote on anything, etc. I would love for the system to be changed so that accounts can be split, or if there is a “general accountholder” overall, and then each seat is split, or something like that. I don’t know how it’d really work, but you can see my dilemma here. I’m sure others feel the same way.

Shouldn't be a problem

My friend bought our season tickets together the first day they went on sale before the inaugural season. A couple months later, I found out that I wouldn’t have my own account so I called the Sounders and they created an account for me and assigned my seat to it. I bet if you work it out between your Sounders ticket rep and the owner of the account they’ll do that for you, too.

I'm not sure if this is the same thing as we didn't have a chance to do it

a friend of mine had two seats. He ended up moving to Montana. Our other friend who did not buy season tickets took over his account and transferred into his name. The problem this caused, is he couldn’t renew this season at the locked first season price like the rest of us. It was a weird deal, kinda like those who added half season tickets for the section up above GA.

Here you go.

1. Enough with the vuvuzelas. They’ll either peter out in a year or three or they’re now a soccer fixture. Thanks South Africa! Don’t waste meeting time on this.

2. Enough with the yellow kits. Some of us think they’re ace. I wish the highlights were Seattle blue instead of Rave Green, though. They’d pop more. Don’t waste meeting time on this unless you think we can get blue trim.

3. Season tickets next year: what others said. Ticket holders if at all possible should get first crack at their spots for all playoffs and tournaments.

4. Ask about the viability of getting CONCACAF and USOC matches entirely on local TV fiscally, and it’s worth it. The Fox Soccer Channel not being available in HD for a lot of Seattle sucks.

5. See about getting all USOC matches at Qwest — viable?

6. Hawks Nest in MLS/CONCACAF play: for the love of God do not stick or allow away supporters in there for any reason if we can help it.

7. Stadium music during lineups/intro/walk-on. Keep the current song for the walk-on and clapping. It’s frakking epic. For the Sounders line ups, please switch to the nifty “Sounders Theme” (I don’t know it’s name, but I love it) we hear on commercials and television. It’s so much more fun and invigorating.

by Threeball on Oct 20, 2010 9:06 PM PDT up reply actions

The biggest issue that I'd like to hear more about...

is how soon are they going to pursue airing the games on television outside of the Seattle area. I live in northern Idaho, in the Spokane television market, and would love to be able to watch the games live without using the questionable online feeds. As it stands now, FSN has the rights to air replays of the games, but not until an hour after the game ends. Is there any chance of them syndicating to other local stations? for TV or radio?/

by jacobcda on Oct 20, 2010 2:23 PM PDT reply actions

an broader topic..

would be to just find out if they have any plans at all to try to expand their brand in to the eastern side of the state and beyond, or if they are just concentrating on the West side for now.

by jacobcda on Oct 20, 2010 2:28 PM PDT up reply actions

I'd love it if they'd try to convince Boise's NBC affiliate to air games, even on their secondary channel

They carry a lot of “Northwest Cable News” stuff. Seems like the Sounders would get as many eyeballs as news re-runs.
It’d even be fun to get Timbers games, just for the hatred.

by yuniform on Oct 21, 2010 11:58 AM PDT up reply actions

One more - kit contest?

If there is serious hatred over the yellow kits, then see if they’d be game to open the door to community-designed jerseys in some sort of internet voting. Like, they take submissions from fans, etc., and then have the players and front office narrow it down to their Top 5. Voting online and at the games themselves. Winner take all, and it becomes the new third kit. The winning designer(s) get the Golden Scarf and an authentic kit that they designed.

Even niftier, if they go for this, and they pay for someone to whip up a flash page on the soundersfc.com site for anyone to play “design a kit” with simple graphics, so that even non-designers can make and submit one.

#TrophiesNotFriendlies

I’m not sure where this is going now that there is only going to be one friendly next season, but I would think the logical thing to push for would be to have a question added to the year end survey of STHs to get a pulse on how most people think about this. With that, you would want to ensure the question gets worded properly so what you are pushing for is really tested.

My thoughts

As for topics discussed…

1. The band – I agree with others. I would prefer not to have it at all but if we have it, please not during the game. I understand this is a lesser issue than some but the band playing during the game bothered me EVERY game I attended and I really do not know who really liked it (other than Drew Carey).

2. Of course Trophies not Friendlies.

3. Away game seating should not not only not be limited to 150, I would like to see them work out a marketing package with Amtrak to get as many fans as possible in from the other cities to our game.

4. As for our one friendly a year. Lets try to make a new tradition. EUFA champ vs MLS regular season attendance record champ in a friendly every year. :) At least suggest it to them! :)

5. I would really like a stat board in qwest with things like shots, shots on goal, etc… Can they modify one of the football ones to do both? It would be nice, plus it would really make it feel like a more soccer/football stadium rather than a football stadium the sounders get to play in when the seahawks are not in town.

by lysander on Oct 20, 2010 9:22 PM PDT reply actions

Does Qwest want to convert to grass?

It seems like everybody complains about FieldTurf, and even the NFL is doing studies to see if it’s causing more injuries.

Also how are they gonna share Qwest field when the Huskies are going to use it for 2012? Is there difference between how fast they can convert the paint lines on FieldTurf vs grass?

by hormd on Oct 21, 2010 12:25 AM PDT reply actions

Much less a question of the lines than of wear-and-tear on the surface

Sigi has been pretty outspoken in wanting a real pitch and I’m sure SSFC would convert to grass yesterday if they could. But a grass field would get really beat up between soccer and NFL football, especially in bad weather. And as you said, with the Huskies sharing the field in 2012, well, that’s a hell of a lot of wear for the surface to recover from.

by lemonverbena on Oct 21, 2010 3:17 AM PDT up reply actions

A more salient question is turf replacement

When Riley and Seamon went down with injuries at a practice there were some comments on the turf getting worn down.

Real grass might not be an option, but I would think new turf is a good idea.

Balanced Council representation

I really appreciate the atmosphere and support ECS does, but it does worry me that they are over represented in the Council. It seems that council policy and the way members are elected favors organized active groups that do not represent the whole of Seattle Sounders and season ticket holders. I think supporter groups should be given a set number of seats on the council for the long term goal of creating a balanced council that more accurately represents the whole of season ticket holders. When you only need 25 votes or whatever to get on the council it seems silly that a group of a few hundred organized members cast exactly 25 votes for several individuals to maximize their own representation.

-Ben R.

So just because ECS members have worked hard to earn their spots on the Council they should be limited? If other people truly wanted spots one the council then they should try to gain support and get elected. Just because ECS members are more active voters, and more involved with the process does not mean they should have their involvement limited.

You honestly think ECS members work just as hard to get elected?

members who want to get elected outside of organized supporter groups have to work 10 times as hard to get elected. You honestly think an ECS member has to work hard to get elected when you can send an e-mail to the hundreds of members you have or post on your very active forum for 25 votes versus the non-affiliated season ticket holder that has to walk around his section to find 25 account holders by making and introduction or going online and doing something that actual resembles a campaign with an agenda? And even if the person does get on the council through this harder route he or she is on a council packed by members of the same contingent pushing the same agenda.

When voting is a privilege council members get you don’t think it is concerning that a an active group of 2000 members gets a large chunk of representation when there are what, over 28,000 season ticket holders not part of that group. So even if that 2,000 number is generous for members that we can call active in ECS, not just people who pay dues, and also be generous and round down to 30,000 season ticket holders, that means ECS is only 6.6% of the season ticket holding base. Again, this is being generous with the numbers. Why should a group representing 6% of stake holders have any more representation in a council vote that represents all season ticket holders is beyond me and goes against some of the goals of having a council in the first place. With election practices becoming much more organized I forsee ECS being able add more seats at a higher rate than non-supporter group council members and that worries me that we are not going to have a fair diverse representation in the council. I am curious, what percentage of the council right now is ECS anyways?

So that could mean ECS has at least a quarter or maybe a third of the council seats? Again this is despite being no more than 6% of the season ticket holder base. Am I the only one that sees that as fundamentally wrong for a representative council?

What do the council do anyway?

They get to give their point of view to the front office, but I can do that with an e-mail or a phone call. The front office will do what the front office wants. I remember being told we’d vote on third jerseys, but that never happened.

If you look at photos of members with ECS scarves and other ECS members like Lori Ross and Arthur Kim. Greg Mockos is also an ECS member if you google his name. Again, they don’t have to expressly state membership on their profiles.

So 7 of 22. That’s 1/3rd of council members being ECS.

A few more actually

Rob Scott, saw he sat in 122. Googled and found he is involved with the ECS podcast and hosted Matt Gaschk.
We also left at Mark Inderhees who is pictured with a ECS scarf and sits in GA.

So that is ECS with 10/22 seats. 45%
To be fair GFC has 4/22. (Kathleen Pendleton, Kjell Hansen, Kevin Zelko, Jason Young) 18%
NES has 1/22 with. (I think Ken is the only one on there) 5%

Personally I don’t think a supporter group should have more than 3 or 4 members on the council, or should comprise more than 15% of the council. I’d like to find ways to get others involved outside of supporters groups and prevent the council from becoming further weighted with supporter group advocates.

Again your argument comes down to the fact that they were voted on.
The responsibility for this lies solely with the STH.
And the majority clearly do not care enough to advocate someone on.

That's not the case

Firstly I would hardly consider it a vote to get onto the council (this isn’t about majorities. You’re basically petitioning members in.
I don’t think it’s that the majority don’t care. I think it’s more a problem of access. The 25 account holder petition becomes broken in the case of supporter groups who can mathematically distribute there hundreds of members to maximize the efficiency of petitioning to get as many seats as possible. The 25 petition limit is a bit too high for non supporter group members in my opinion because they do no have access to the same resources as supporter groups (clearly defined network, marketing tools such as facebook groups, official twitter accounts, email lists, and so on).

And why does the argument that you somehow care more than others a justification that your group should be able to disproportionately represent the council over others on the board that equally care? If a person got elected to council with 100 petitions should that individual get 4 times as many votes and voices than 1 ecs member that got exactly 25 petitions because people clearly cared 4 times as much about this 1 person than one member with exactly 25 petitions? Come on. How do you seriously look at the board and argue it’s a fair representation of season ticket holders with how easy the petition system is manipulated by organized groups?

Going back a supporter group cap...

And if we did cap supporters groups at 3 members we would lose 8 seats total on the council. Let’s assume NES can pick up one more seat. That would put us at 15 council members.

ECS would get 3/15 (20%) the council from a group that is no more than 6% of the STH base.
Collectively that is 8/15 (53%) of the council being representatives of supporters groups that constitute less than %10 of the STH base.

You are still over represented, but you don’t overpower representatives that are unaffiliated with supporter groups nearly as much, and no single supporter group has 50% of the vote (I am going to assume ECS will be adding a seat or two next season).

How is that not fair?

-Ben R.

by reesebw on Oct 21, 2010 1:16 PM PDT up reply actions

My point is that the “system” is not being manipulated.
ECS has worked hard to get their message out, and if other prospective Council members don’t want to put in the effort to get on the council, then they don’t deserve it.
When I said we care more, I meant that we have put lots of effort into getting people on the council, there is no reason others can’t do the same.

What do you think the point of the council is?

To represent the most active season ticket holders or all season ticket holders? You seem to think it’s the former. I think it’s the latter. When 10/22 members all sit in GA and are of the same group they do not represent, see, or hear the concerns from other parts of the stadium.

-Ben R.

by reesebw on Oct 21, 2010 1:26 PM PDT up reply actions

The fault for that lies solely on the season ticket holders though. Its not fair to limit the presence of the supporters groups if season ticket holders aren’t willing to go the distance to get their voice heard.

I haven't actually done voting

I’m a season ticket holder, but through a group of friends and family so I haven’t voted. Does the ballot clearly state which candidates are affiliated with supporters group?

I think a hard cap is a bit tough on active members, but I’m always in favor of transparency so the STH can make an informed choice on who they want to represent them.

by Dizzo on Oct 21, 2010 1:56 PM PDT up reply actions

It isn't a ballot

but a blank line where you write someone in

Sounder at Heart reader Daniel Roe was just elected.

Those elected in 2009 are supposed to be done this year.

but STH get to vote every year.

Just because someone is ECS doesn’t mean their path onto the Council is easy.
Its taken Angeline the better part of this season to get on the council.
She only made it there because she was well respected and we thought she would make a good edition.
My point is I think it unfair of you to limit or decrease the amount of ECS members on the Council, just because our “election practices are becoming more organized”
If other STH’s wanted their point to be made in Council meetings then they should lobby for one of their representatives. The majority of ECS members are eager to get the most out of this direct line to the FO, how can we be at fault for that?

CCL

Thank them for marketing it as hard as they did.

Then suggest that next year they take the marketing budget they would spend on ccl and plow it back into making the tix cheaper. Then put them in the season ticket package. Perhaps put them in the package for the lower bowl only.

As a STH I really want them to “force” me to buy theses tix. I think they can spin this nicely – “here are a few extra games his year for MASSIVELY discounted cost to you.”. Even if there is only one guaranteed ticket – just include the subscription as part of the package and then do a charge or refund later.

I expect the team to regularly qualify for ccl and I want the expectation on me as a sth to buy those tix. Ironically it would be better for me financially, if they put them in there then the 20k otherwise unaware will show up like they do league games and my tix will have resale value.

At least some sort of discussion

I’ve seen quotes that they are “looking into” the turf vs grass issue. I believe them, mostly. I just would feel more comfortable ifa conversation was started so we could gauge how much they actually have looked into it. What solutions have they considered. What are the pro’s and con’s in their eyes. Something like that.

by DarthGreedo on Oct 21, 2010 9:01 AM PDT up reply actions

Two football teams and a soccer team next fall

that will be great!

Recall how bad the grass has looked at Columbus or Houston or Dallas after just high school/college football, and remember they won’t have the weather issues we do.

Yeah, I don't see anyway this happens

That field would take such a severe beating that it really wouldn’t be worth it to put in grass.

by Brian Floyd on Oct 21, 2010 9:29 AM PDT up reply actions

I've never noticed problems at Columbus and Dallas.

Houston was bad definitely. I know they can’t do anything until after the Husky stadium renovation is done now. I’m not a turf hater but I’m curious about the new tray tech we’ve heard about. If they can really replace sections of the field when they are worn with new ones that should make NFL/MLS pairing work. espcially since the overlap is so small.

I just want to hear what they’ve looked into out of curiousity. Like i said, I don’t hate the turf. Just want to see better.

YOU SUCK ASSH*LE chant needs to stop.

YOU SUCK ASSH*LE chant needs to stop.

The ECS hates it and says it needs to stop
The MLS commissioner says it needs to stop,
ESPN says if you want us to show your games, it needs to stop.

The only people who haven’t come out that chant are the owners.
If the owners would pass out flyers telling people to stop back by everyone I mension then it will stop.

by WestcoastBrian on Oct 21, 2010 9:32 AM PDT reply actions

Slippery slope there, Garber doesnt like it because of profanity, ECS doesn’t like it because its pointless.
But if Garber lays down the law about cursing, then the attention will be focused on ECS, especially when ESPN pans to the Brougham End and see middle fingers or audio of our choicer chants.

Can't stop, but maybe replace?

Trying to stop that chant will be like trying to stop people from drinking before the match. Maybe we can start a new thread for a better chant. I’m sure everybody will follow ECS if they come up with a clever/simple alternative because everybody wants to be a part of the cool kids.

Just replace it with the Keeper's name

You’re not going to get people to not shout anything. Plus, that’d suck. The audible buildup as the keeper is prepping for the kick is awesome.

Just go with:

“You suck Cronin”
“You suck Onstad”

Best part will be getting through it when there’s some keeper named Poulidalkashevizc.

If enough of the supporter’s groups do it then the other fans should pick up on it. They picked up on ‘You suck asshole’ quick enough.

Open Practices

I was just reading this LifeHacker article about how to not choke under pressure (http://lifehacker.com/5669385/four-reasons-why-you-choke-under-pressure-and-how-to-avoid-them). The first suggestion they had was to practice under [even if mild] pressure. Maybe they could hold more open practices? (or if they have em already, then advertise em better?)

Last season Sounders had practice at MS campus once and they seemed to practice harder (http://www.soundersfc.com/media-library/Videos/Features/2009/07-July/090716-Practice.aspx). Same deal with Seahawks’ open practices in the preseason (http://www.seahawks.com/media-lounge/videos/Seahawks-Daily—-Bing-Training-Camp-Day-1/0630b7f0-9b44-4d0f-abc0-b9db653252b8).

by hormd on Oct 21, 2010 10:55 AM PDT reply actions

not at MSFT

I saw the Sounders practice at MSFT, and I’ve also played on the field turf at the Commons, and I would hope they don’t practice there again. Nothing against the idea/concept, but everything against the quality of the pitch. It is very poorly done field turf (ie, hard with little give). Practicing there is just injuries waiting to happen. Not worth the publicity stunt.

The Grammatrain song is so dated

and so, well, “older white dude”.Glad I’m not the only one who isn’t down with it. There should be something for everyone, and I suppose it’s cool for the 90’s rockers but once a match is enough (how many times was it played at the USOC final celebration?). Glad to have an alternative with that Axim Flow track. I think we should consider the audience and embrace the multicultural nature of the sport when we choose the music. I’m curious, are non-whites represented on the council mentioned in above posts?

The Soundwave are great outside the stadium and during breaks, but they ruin the flow during play if you’re sitting close and trying to join in a chant.

Electricity kits grew on me, too. Would LOVE to see the throwbacks.

Speaking as a fan who can’t afford season tickets, it’s nice to have a chance to score better seats for the CCL matches.

And yeah, the opposing goal kick “cheer” is unoriginal and an embarrasment. We can and should do better!

There are non-whites on the council

But it is an elected position, so the representation has everything to do with those that run and get 25 votes, and NOTHING to do with ethnicity/race
