Around SBN: New York Giants Super Bowl XLVI Ring Unveiled

Here's a blurb from audio about how Nkufo played in the USOC finals.

Softy: Tell me about Nkufo coming out of the attacking third of the field, because he goes back into the midfield a lot.

Matt Gaschk: Against Columbus in particular when you saw him coming back into the midfield, what’s he’s doing is drawing Chad Marshall, who’s their best defender, away from the goal, and really giving Fredy Montero more space closer to the goal, which is where, you know, when Fredy Montero has the ball closest to the goal he’s dangerous.

So [Nkufo] is drawing players away, and really getting them out of their comfort zone because they have to mark him. They can’t leave him open because they saw what happened the first time around when they left him open; he scored 3 goals against them. So by him coming back into the midfield away from the attacking third, he’s creating more space and more opportunities for Fredy Montero, and in turn Steve Zakuani and Sanna Nyassi as well. We kind of saw the results of that as well; Sanna Nyassi scored 2 goals.

Good find

Matt’s worked long and hard to get Softy to notice those kinds of things.

Softy didn't notice any of those things

In the audio you’ll find out that guys in the background were trying to get Softy to ask Matt that question, but he didn’t know exactly what he was asking. Matt had to guess what he was asking. Softy was “trying to sound smart, but ended up puking all over [himself].” He also admitted that he didn’t understand anything in Matt’s response to the question.

That makes a lot more sense

Some day I’m going to write an essay on show prep

I almost want to host a class for the KJR guys, but I know they’d just mock me for the hour.

I think this is why soccer isn't a huge topic of convo on sports Radio

Most hosts don’t really know how to talk about it. If i had a radio show I wouldn’t talk about golf cause all i know is Par is good. Bogey’s are bad. and Eagles are cooler then regular birds, or something like that….

I just like that a number of KJR personalities are trying.
