Building the Reserve Team
Or "once a Sounder always a Sounder?"
That's what I think when I look who has been at optional training with the Sounders.
The following players are currently training with Sounders FC: Goalkeepers (3): Terry Boss, Jordan Jennings*, Kasey Keller; Defenders (12): Julien Baudet, Danny Earls, Taylor Graham, Leo Gonzalez, Jhon Kennedy Hurtado, Patrick Ianni, Tyrone Marshall, Jeff Parke, James Riley, Zach Scott, Tyson Wahl, Jamel Wallace*. Midfielders (8): Osvaldo Alonso, David Estrada, Brad Evans, Alvaro Fernandez, Lamar Neagle*, Sanna Nyassi, Michael Seamon, Nathan Sturgis; Forwards (9): Mike Fucito, Blaise Nkufo, Nate Jaqua, Roger Levesque, Miguel Montano, Fredy Montero, Pat Noonan, Tye Perdido*, Steve Zakuani.

Optional training sessions at Starfire will resume on November 29 and conclude December 3
Now several Sounders are out and about for a few weeks of off-season. The most well known of these is Steve Zakuani. While others are certainly in town and participating in team activities; Patrick Ianni and Fredy Montero were at last week's Academy games.
While Jennings can't qualify for the new Reserve/HomeGrown Slots (24 and Unders), Wallace, Neagle and Perdido do. Jamel and Tye have been in and out of Sounders training the whole year.
If we see Akeem Adams, Jared Karkas and Evan Brown show up we'll know that the Sounders will build the Reserve Team out of guys that they've grown to know, even if we don't I would expect Wallace and Perdido to receive offers.
Neagle though had signed in Finland after his great performance in USL-2 (now USLPro) last year. He's also not the Right Back/Right Mid that he'd been with Seattle, but now a Right Mid and even forward. He's a goal scorer.
If he'd accept the Reserve slot, the Sounders should do it.

I think it makes perfect sense
for the Sounders to stock the Reserve squad with players that have already been in camp. It isn’t very productive to reinvent the wheel when you can bring in guys with whom you already have mutual familiarity.
One thing to keep in mind: The Sounders have 4 picks in the first 2 rounds of the SuperDraft. How do you think that will affect their pre-draft signings for slots 25-30?
You will hear us on Brougham, you will hear us on Occidental, you will hear us on King. We are all around you, there is no escape.
Hard to judge right now
because a couple of those draft picks could be Gen Adidas, and we don’t know how many slots will be opened up through Expansion, Waiver, Re-Entry Drafts.
I am not a Supporter | I am not a Fan | I am a Sounder

Also Seattle could sign an HGP or two, or three

Good timing on bringing back the reserve squads
There is too large a gap between collegiate soccer and the MLS and a lack of playing time for those not quite up to scruff.
The thread Cooler...
They players who could benefit the most right off the bat
are guys like Estrada, who are pretty good – certainly good enough to keep on the squad – but don’t see a lot of minutes in actual games.
