Both teams come into tonight's game unbeaten after solid performances in Week 1. The Sounders took care of the expansion-side Philadelphia Union, 2-0, while the Red Bulls beat the Chicago Fire, 1-0.
In some ways, the sides are mirror images, with the Sounders returning the bulk of their playoff team of a year ago and the Red Bulls undergoing an almost complete overhaul after missing the playoffs in '09.
Both teams' most recognizable players, Freddie Ljungberg and Juan Pablo-Angel, were question marks heading into the game but it appears as if both will start.
All indications are that the Red Bulls will be playing it close to the vest, and would be perfectly happy to come out of Qwest Field with a tie. The Sounders harbor no such illusions, after a seemingly endless string of scoreless ties a year ago, they will be looking to score as often as possible.
Like last week, weather could play a significant role. It has been raining on and off all day and it hasn't been this cold since January.

Normally I just watch it on FSC, but all of a sudden Comcast isn’t default carrying it. And they were last season. I am not happy.

I think Seattle was pretty decent last year.
But it’s a really low% if I remember correctly. So a couple corner kicks made can flip you from middle of the pack to top team in MLS.

Best game this season but...
Sounders need to stop trying to play over the top ALL THE FREAKING TIME. Almost ever time it FAILED MISERABLY. They were beating NY on the ground a lot, but totally messed up the flow by playing over the top so much.
Sigh and this is why I’m was ticked off at the lack of offseason signing. Yes we got someone to help but kufo won’t show up until after the world cup. However seattle did nothing to solve the lack to finishing immediately. Noonan will help some but i’m a bit worried and yes this is the 2nd game of the season.
