Around SBN: Knicks Beat Lakers With Familiar Strategy

"Will always have love for glasgow and of course RANGERS!! time to open a new chapter in my book! Look forward to the upcomin months," read Beasley's first Twitter message on Sunday to hint at a change of course, followed by the confirmation, "yes Im leaving for everyone that asked.. Will never forget my time at RANGĀERS!! Thanks for all the messages from the best fans in the world!"

Beasley available on Summer Free

Beasley had 14 Goals and 20 Assists in 4 MLS seasons with the Fire. He also has 90 Caps with the US MNT with 17 goals.

He’s primarly been a Left Mid/Winger, with significant time on the Right as well. He also has scattered experience at Forward and even Left Wingback.

He’d get DP money to come back to MLS. The Fire would not get compensation. He would require an Allocation Slot.

hmm which means Seattle would have to trade up for one.

I would say go for it especially that he’s an american.

Sounders currently 9th in Allocation Order

According to Ives

Philly went from 6th to 1st using only Allocation Dollars.
DC United in the trade that nabbed them Perkins gave up Fred (huge salary), their #7 SuperDraft pick and Allocation Dollars.

Seattle does have two second round SuperDraft picks and may have some talent that other teams would like.

Is there a deal that you could see Seattle swapping to San Jose, Kansas City or Toronto (I wouldn’t expect more than 3 teams to pass on DMB) in order to acquire the former national teamer?

i can see giving up one a 2nd rounder but don’t know which player Seattle would give up in order to move them into position to take DMB.

Stay away

I wonder about the guy’s work rate, not to mention his ability to take contact (now he’ll be in Major League ‘cheap shot’ Soccer).

Love what he’s done for the Nats in his day, and he’s still better than a lot of the players we’ve been trotting out week after week, but at the price it would take to get him, I’d rather the Sounders spend their money elsewhere.

well here’s the thing he’s an American which means we don’t need a international slot. If we go for a European player we would have to have a international slot open. Kufo will be taking the last open int spot we have open.

Either way we would have to trade to be higher in the allocation slot or trade for international slot
