Azzurri: A World Cup Watching Possibility for Seattle

I know we've had some open threads about where to watch the World Cup, but I wanted to put forth Azzurri. Azzurri is the nickname of the Italian team, so if you absolutely loathe Italy this might not be your place.

But unlike other bars, who are using the excuse that they can't serve until 6am to not open for the 4:30 matches, this little bar will be up and running tomorrow at 4am. The staff are total sweethearts and chat and bicker in Italian. The pizza tastes like it does in Italy and my cappuccino is one of the best I've had in awhile. They've got a stack of WSC and FourFourTwo magazines. Plus they've got a Napoli kit on the wall so I kind of love them.

Azzurri is in Fremont, on 35th and Greenwood, pretty much directly across from the G&D. If you're looking to have a total World Cup experience and watch the early matches with friends, try this place. But if you take my seat I will have to hurt you.

Ciao bellas! Viva la World Cup!

Love this place - Fun low key place to watch.

The owner is the same guy that owned and ran Ponte Vecchio down the street for years. For those that don’t remember, it was a classic, small romantic Italian joint by Portage Bay Goods, across from Adobe in Freemont. I highly recomend his new pad. If you loathe Italy, you obviously haven’t been to Italy enough. This will help you overcome your reluctance to embrace the boot. Over acting, diving and crying during dinner time is usually kept to a minimum.
Ciao!
Kelly.
