And the FO steps up big time
It would be really interesting if the pitches were made public to see who is offering how much, and if the stadium and time of the game plays that big of a role.
only
reason why seattle is hosting cause baseball season would be over by then.
Absolutely Wrong
Joe Roth said they would do everything in their power to host, that they learned a ton from last year, and that they will host every match in this tournament that is practical, but always the Final

okay
Sorry. Didn’t realize there was more to the bidding then just having the time open in order to host.
Not that there was any doubt
But the USSF has also made an official announcement.

This is the best salve to last night
I’m increasingly of a mind that the USOC is as important to me as MLS. I know that’s kinda nutty, but personally I’ve had such amazing memories and moments from the start of our run last year to now that I look at it very, very fondly. The potential for a grudge match of DCU – SSFC, but at Qwest this time – well, let’s just say I’m a little bit tingly from excitement.
Here’s to putting a starting XI out against Chivas next week and giving them a pounding!

It's easier to love the USOC
when we have yet to lose since joining the MLS.
Now with more lemon bars!
Awesome!
Won’t have to wait at the airport at 3am waiting for the players to return this time.
Does anyone know what the reasons were that we didn’t get it last year? I heard the FO had proposed a 3:00 kickoff time.
M's conflict
Right, they would have had to start the game in the afternoon (1PM I think) because the M’s had home games during the possible days. This is part of the reason why the games are at starfire this year (but I don’t know if they would have moved any to RBP even without conflicts).
Why oh why
couldn’t this be Friendly C?
They could have announced their intention and stated that if they don’t make the final STHs could get a refund or credit at the team store or whatever.
This
I agree so, so much. But if we don’t make the final, that means an entire stadium left unsold. They’d lose waaay too much cash to justify it.

Yes, you're right
It’s all about the money, but I feel like and NFL fan getting screwed by having to pay full price (plus a premium in the case of Chivas) for games that don’t count against opponents I don’t care about.
From what I understand, the FO took a pass on bringing in big names this year because of the World Cup and the likely hood that teams wouldn’t have their stars if they came this year. So, we got teams that weren’t likely to have anyone playing in the WC.
If rumor is to be believed, they are expecting the return of big name teams next year.
Love 8 pm
Won’t have to take a half day from work. But will get home late…
Except, if it’s DCU, they have this thing about scoring 3 goals at Qwest.

Sounds like a plan.
But I almost don’t know who to root for in the other semifinal. DCU stinks this year, but they play us tough, and they like the Open Cup, too.
