Semi - OT: pickup games in Seattle?

Howdy yall, been a fan of this iteration of the Sounders since the inaugural Red Bulls game, and I've been lurking around here for most of the past season.  Really choice blog you got here, great community, interface, everything.  Love it.

Star-divide

Anyway, I recently relocated to the Seattle area, and I'm wondering whereabouts one might go to get into a quick game?  I didn't see too many likely fields on the flight in, but thats hardly conclusive.  Where do you guys go, and what is the general skill level of the players found there?

Im no authority but...

I’ve seen pick-up games at Cal Anderson park on Broadway Ave in Capitol Hill, and at the Georgetown Playground, across I-5 from Cleveland HS(this one has real goals). Skill level and age vary a lot, so dont be stressed. If you are a more serious player i think there are a couple good rec leagues in the area. Good luck finding what you want and have fun!

Co-Rec of Seattle

Co-Rec is a Seattle league that has several co-ed and single sex leagues. They also have a Saturday clinic every week for helping players find teams, it generally runs ~1 hour of drills and ~1 of scrimmage. I’ve been to a handful over the years for fun, seen anywhere for 12 people show up to 35 or so.

I will also admit to having mixed luck with finding a team through them, I feel like most Saturdays it is multiple managers trying to find more female for their team. I’d love to find a second team but have not had any luck. Still, they are worth checking out.

Their website is here:

pick-up

there’s a regular pickup game at Eckstein middle school turf field- Sunday around (gulp) 8:15AM. Goes until about 9:45 when kids league shows up. Pugg goals, usually 6-7 a side, most guys in 30s and 40’s with some younger and older.
