Radio Hit - 9:05PM on KJR with Dick Fain

Dick Fain is filling in on the night show tonight on 950 KJR-AM Seattle tonight. He's going to have me on at 9:05PM, pending breaking news, etc. We'll talk CCL, MLS Playoffs, and the US Open Cup Final.

If you want Seattle sports radio stations to talk more soccer, you need to listen when they do give it the opportunity.

I'll link the podcast when it is up on their site.

Here you can find ways to listen over media player, podcast or download the interview.

I literally just sat down to pinch one off with my iPad...

Saw your note. Quickly Turned on the radio to hear Dick intro you.. Listening now.

(And dick thinks college football and the bcs makes sense?)

He thinks it makes sense

Because he’s familiar with it – which is exactly what he said on the show (that he needs more education in soccer).

If he reads this blog with any regularity he’ll start to ‘get it’ in no time.

oh bummer

Just saw your note about being on the show. Nice to hear radio guys show interest in the Sounders! Hope it went well!

I heard the show

Good job accurately explaining the multi-layered competition in succinct terms! Not sure who all was listening, but those who were got a great (and blessedly brief) education in how soccer leagues interact.

Also, loved the comment on the difference that Blaise makes (in terms of the problems the combo of he and Montero make for defenses).

If there had been a chance to call in I wanted to ask this question: a while ago, you posted about the high-line defense and why that opened up opportunities for Montero but helped take Blaise out of the game.

Did Columbus NOT use the high-line against Blaise? Is that how they took Montero out of the game but opened up opportunities for Blaise to sit in or near the box and wait for a good cross?
