If you don't think that tonight's match between LA and NY isn't huge for the league, you are ignoring that MLS wouldn't get a two-pager in the NY Times without it.
The League is growing. MLS 2.0 is gone. MLS 3.0 is 3 DPs, Canadian/Northwest expansion and revenue controlled stadiums.

I am all for more American DPs
The last thing we need is more Feilhabers on second-division Danish teams. Plus, for the good of the national team, it has to be easier to evaluate players against one another if they are in the same league.
There will always be a place for USMNT players going overseas, but ultimately a strong MLS will help make the USMNT even stronger.
