Well, at least Seattle has all that depth at Right Back and Center Mid

Oh, wait, nevermind.

Artificial surface claims more victims.

Remember that training on artificial surfaces is linked to osteitis pubis as well. Seriously. Grass. For everyone’s sake.

They weren't training on an artificial surface

And only do so a once or twice a week.

That, and modern artificial surfaces do not in fact result in more injuries.

Not to be argumentative.

But yes, they were. Both players were hurt in a session at Qwest. Sigi actually alludes to the turf being “sticky” at one point.

The correlation between artificial surfaces and certain types of injuries like turf toe and osteitis pubis is probably a topic for another day.

They were definitely training at Qwest

But they are always going to train at least some of the time on turf as long as they play home games on it. It would be ridiculous to train only on grass and then hope to fully exploit your homefield advantage on turf.

Sorry, they practiced at Qwest on a different schedule than typical

But there is no change in frequency of injury, just type, from current generations of Field Turf.

And I’ll trade turf toe and osteitis pubis for concussions and ACL tears.
