I think you have captured the essence of why Keller is important to many of us who live in the Pacific Northwest. I first heard of Keller many years when I read a (Seattle PI?) newspaper article about him. I wasn’t a soccer fan back in those days, but it was that local connection to the game that first captured my interest and set me down the path to eventually becoming a fan. If the Sounders follow the Seahawks lead in creating a Ring of Honor at the stadium, Kasey Keller’s name deserves to be the frst to be enshrined. He means far more to this team and its fans than a mere 3 years on the roster would indicate.
