Crowd Of 62,000-Plus May Be Just The Beginning
Talked to Adrian Hanauer for a story I did at MLSSoccer.com and he admits that even he is amazed at how quickly the Sounders' popularity has grown. He says he can see a day in the not-so-distant future when the team is regularly drawing crowds like Saturday's to CenturyLink Field.

As much as I would like to think consistent stadium-fillers are in the near future
I think the reality is we’d only draw slightly more than our current capacity per game. I was at the NYRB game earlier this year, and the crowd was at 46k, and that was with Henri interest and the ManU package. I think if the tarps were never there, we’d draw about 42k per game.

right now? I agree
But if the team continues on this trajectory, I think 60k in 5-15 years is doable.

Honestly, best case for 2012
would be having the Pews open for every match (+2,300) and then a multi-ticket Gold Package or something with Cascadia, Opener, Closer and Friendly that is premium priced (ie 40% of a season ticket which would still be a small discount versus buying that single game) for as many as who want.

I love the idea of a ticket package with the big games in it
I would certainly buy it. I’d probably resell the friendly, but the others would be great.
