Two of the top 3 from the worst team in the league
They didn’t score often, but the Whitecaps certainly had some memorable goals.
Has anyone seen the MLS video of Goals of the Year since 1996?

In my opinion, I think a majority of these from 2011 are better than half the goals on that list. The defending is less bad on a lot of these goals, and the filled stadiums/crowd reactions make them look nicer too.

My favsof those
Mcbride’s scissor, Balboa’s bike, and De-Ro’s FK. That FK was sick. A laser in the top 90 from about 30 yards.

If I'm thinking of the same one...
DeRo’s FK was crazy because it starts heading toward the corner flag and then bends all the way back to the upper 90. That thing had a wicked curve to it.
Cascadia is well represented in this montage

Hard to argue with Hassli
but I think the fact that Nagbe lined up that shot through traffic and did exactly what he wanted with it was pretty goddamned impressive. Hassli just kind of turned and prayed.
I must admit that Hassli's shot truly deserved the top spot.
I was in the brougham end for that one and it was every bit as impressive even without the replays.
