Around SBN: Yankees Deny Rumors That Team Is For Sale

More evidence to fuel the "Cascadia soccer rules the internet" theory. All four goals by Cascadia players. Both games between Seattle and Vancouver feature a finalist - Fredy Montero there and Eric Hassli here. Darlington Nagbe's juggling long range shot makes the cut. Rounding out the final four is Davide Chiumiento.

Go vote. The internet will thank you.

Cascadia or no, those are beautiful goals

Three of the four goals involve both beautiful ball control to set up the shot and then clinical finishing. The fourth goal, Hassli’s, is just jaw dropping even if it may or may not involve a fair amount of ‘shear dumb luck’.

I voted for Fredy’s score because it involves both a beautiful piece of ball control to create the opportunity for the shot and obvious finesse in the shot itself. The other three shots, while spectacular, don’t involve the same level of creating the opportunity as Fredy’s goal. To me they were more of a chance of being in the right place and making the most of the opportunity. But I won’t be upset to see any of them win. They are all worthy.

Between GOTY and SOTY Cascadia rules

Only one of the eight total finalists is non-Cascadia. The bicycle clear by Tainio of NYRB. Which is pretty incredible if not the best single save of the bunch.

Still I voted Fredy and Kasey because I am Sounder fan and don’t want to see Portland stuff a ballot to win a “voting contest”

And even that save came against a Cascadia team

I also think it’s awesome that Montero and Keller both made it to the finals in both categories. It says a lot about them that it takes an epic shot to score on Keller and a crazy save to stop a Montero shot .
