I think SBN should consider a run-off ballot
Hard to consider Davis much of a winner when he got 5 out of 25 first-place votes.
No one is questioning that Brad Davis had his best season as a professional
Davis is definitely the Dynamo MVP.
Whether that qualifies him for the MVP of the league seems dubious.
MVP is not awarded to the leading goal scorer or even the leading goals plus assist leader, automatically. And that is a good thing.
But, instead the award is given to a player who mostly stayed healthy and only had 4 goals in the run of play with 49 shots (he scored 3 PKs for whatever that is worth).

And was also ridiculously good from set pieces, is a good defensive player and was one of the better playmakers in the league

He has the intangibles and a history of good set pieces.
I think if his teammates helped him out a little more and actually finished a few of the “goal scoring created chances” it would be a stronger argument for the award.
I am glad he got the nod over De Rosario or Shea.
