MLSsoccer.com: As a native of the Seattle area, what has it been like watching the Sounders take off in the region?
Rowe: It’s been great. The fan base is unreal. You walk through Seattle and half the people you see are in Sounders gear, it’s just an amazing movement. I’ve been able to catch a couple of games and the atmosphere, the crowds, are unlike anything I’ve been to, and I’ve been to games in Argentina and Germany.
Fed Way's Kelyn Rowe does Q&A with Travis M Clark for MLSSoccer.com
In his five things to know Clark (no relation just a great name) says that Rowe is most like Eric Avila. Rowe played for Crossfire prior to their being a Sounders Academy. He recently signed a Generation Adidas contract with the league and should be a top 7 pick.

So he doesn't qualify as a potential Homegrown Player?
Dang.

That's what I was wondering.
He has done training with the Sounders. A shame they didn’t lock him into something then.
He couldn't have been a HGP
He would have needed to be in Sounders academy for at least a year and before he was 18. I’m not sure if he could have ever qualified as HGP.

A lot are looking to him as the possible #3.
Only behind Mattocks and Wegner. too bad he won’t slip to us.
Trade something for the pick?
Perhaps one of our many midfielders? I wonder if Montreal would take Fucito for their number one.
Not
for fucito. Seattle won’t give him up.
Depends
on what Seattle is asking for. I doubt it it would just Fucito for their #1 pick.
I like Rowe
but if Seattle gets the #1 overall pick they should nab Wenger

Do
you think Seattle would package their draft picks and trade up?
Would that hold any value in the MLS draft?
From where I’m looking, a second round pick in MLS is like a fourth round pick in the NFL. The talent level seems to be much steeper than in other sports drafts.
Remember Luis Gil
He wanted to only play for either the Sounders or RSL, so when he was picked the two teams had to submit offers to Kansas City (I believe) for the trade. Rowe seems like he wants to play in Seattle and he might be the type of talent MLS thinks they can make transfer money off of then they would probably be fine agreeing to those terms.
except...
he’s already in the draft which suggests he’s at least willing to roll the dice.
