NASL approved for 2011 only
The USA, Canada and Puerto Rico have pro leagues, and semi-pro leagues for 2011.
The NASL has been approved for one year on a provisional status. MLS already exists and USL Pro at the third level is also approved.
US Open Cup structure should come out shortly.

Glad to see that this got worked out
Would be nice to see a longer term solution though. Kinda comical that USSF has their undies in a twist over Traffic’s multiple-team ownership, when their flagship league (MLS) still has two multi-team owners.

For what it's worth
The official word out of USSF is that Traffic USA’s mutli-team ownership is not keeping them from permanent sanctioning. What is? Good question. they won’t say, exactly.

Too late to include nasl teams? That makes zero sense.

It sure doesn't
There’s a story here for someone, it’s either more punitive action, about money or another historically moronic USSF decision to add to their trophy cabinet.
I recently finished reading Soccer in a Football World. I think I’m wound up about this NASL business because that book could have been subtitled “How US Soccer Keeps the USA a Backwater Through Repeated Malfeasance and Incompetence.”
