One of the newest names to join the ranks of Seattle Sounders trialists is Trinidad and Tobago's Kerry Baptiste. The 29-year-old has been a prolific scorer with his club, Joe Public, scoring 69 goals in 92 matches, including three in eight CONCACAF Champions League matches last year. He's also scored eight goals in 43 international caps.
Depending on where you look, he's either listed as a midfielder or a striker, but is listed as a striker on the Sounders' training camp roster. At either position, he'd face a fair amount of competition for a roster spot with the Sounders.
Baptiste is currently out of contract, so would not require a transfer fee if the Sounders were to want to sign him. They would however have to find room on an already crowded roster.
In other training camp news, Taylor Graham and Pat Noonan trained on the side Tuesday and Nate Jaqua remains in Seattle. Also worth noting, Mike Fucito is listed as a midfielder despite seeing most of his senior team playing time at forward and Miguel Montano is listed as a forward despite mostly playing as a midfielder.
