MLS to err on the side of offense
I found a couple things of interest in this article:
1. Garber, "We’re also trying to reward attacking soccer so that players who are subjected to frequent fouls – even those that aren’t called in favor of applying an advantage concept – have got to be better protected,"
2. MLS probably will offer "more benefit" for winning the Supporters’ Shield – without devaluing the playoffs or MLS Cup.

They could fix most of it
By pulling cards on fouls when the player was clearly by the defender. Right now they don’t do that enough, so great skill just ends up in cleat marks on the ankles of the attacker.
Defense shouldn’t = foul and let everyone get behind the ball for the free kick.
