Colorado Rapids Vs. Seattle Sounders, Match Card: Projected Lineups, Stats

Photo

Maybe it's nothing more than wishful thinking, but the Sounder at Heart crew thinks this could be the week Alvaro Fernandez reclaims his starting spot, taking the right midfielder spot in our projected lineup when the Seattle Sounders visit the Colorado Rapids tonight. There doesn't seem to be any reason for Sigi to rush Fredy Montero back, and with the game being played at altitude, bringing him on as a late sub would make a lot of sense.

The other part of our thinking is that Erik Friberg seems to have played his way out of the starting lineup. He hasn't been awful, but the benefits of his more aggressive passing have not been very obvious in recent weeks. Of course, he's also one of the more fit players on the team, so maybe we're just crazy...

On the Rapids' side, we asked UZ of Burgundy Wave for his projections and this is what he gave us. The big moves are his belief that both Anthony Wallace and Pablo Mastroeni will be back in the lineup, which is not good news for the Sounders.

Programming notes: We're still tweaking the format, so please feel free to give us your thoughts. The big question remains: More team stats or do you like the tally boxes?. Printer friendly version: rapids-soundes 0421

Team stats over tally boxes

Definitely more team stats. Otherwise the match card is great as is. :)

Conor Casey

What’s his deal? I admittedly haven’t been playing close attention, but I expect him to start. Has something happened I’m unaware of?

Hamstring strain?

I’m sad that I won’t get to watch Casey run around on the field, because he’s a pleasure to watch, but I’m glad that he won’t be playing against us.

Streaming

Also, does anybody have any recommendations for streaming? Matchday Live has me blocked, I don’t have FSC, and I’m not in Seattle :(

Get thee to the pub young man.

That’s what I have to do since I have comcast (no FSC HD).

That doesn't really work in the Midwest...

any bar here that had FSC wouldn’t be likely to put it on for me. I’ll be moving back to Seattle soon enough, so I just have to tough it out.

I'm thinking..

You got the Rapids wide mids crossed, though Mullan is comfortable on both flanks.

And the fullbacks have interesting labels.
