Overwhelmed by msgs of support/encouragement. Can't change the past, but I'm gonna control my future by remaining positive! One love!

Another tweet

6 minutes later he tweeted this:

Surgery went well and I am on the road to recovery. “A journey of a thousand miles, begins with a single step.” Speak to you all soon!

What a wonderful attitude in the face of such a horrible personal disaster. I’m so proud he plays for Seattle.

Thank you all for your messages of support and encouragement. It’s not easy but I am grateful to have your prayers and genuine wellwishes spurring me on. My outlook is positive and I am trusting in the Lord to work it out in His own way! Love you all!

It’s REALLY good to hear from him.

This

This is why we love Zak so much. He’s impossibly positive and the kind of person we all strive to be. In the face of adversity he’s ready for the challenge. I, for one, can’t wait to see his triumphant return. We can’t even measure how much the Sounders will miss him, but when he comes back, it’s going to be like a bomb of love going off in RBP.

All of us wish we could turn back time, but his return is going to be fucking incredible.
