Steve Zakuani's Open Letter To Seattle Sounders Fans
Steve Zakuani has been inundated with well wishes and rather than answer every message, he's decided to issue this letter through his foundation, Kingdom Hope:
Dear Friends of Kingdom Hope and the Sounders FC Community:
As you all know, during our match this past Friday against the Colorado Rapids, I was unfortunately on the receiving end of a mistimed tackle and had my right tibia and fibula broken as a result. I have been recovering in Denver since Friday night and I just want to say that I am more than overwhelmed by the outpouring of well wishes and genuine encouragements I have received.
After 24 hours I had received about 400 emails, a couple hundred Facebook messages, hundreds of Facebook wall posts, 62 text messages and several phone calls from all over the world. I can't thank my family, friends and fans enough for their love towards me. I also would like to thank my club team, Seattle Sounders FC, for going above and beyond what they needed to do in order to make sure I was comfortable and well taken care of.
The long road to recovery has already started and I am fully aware of the mountains ahead of me but I also know that I will go through all of the challenges ahead with a positive attitude using my faith in Jesus Christ as a solid foundation on which to overcome this setback. Again, thank you for your love, thoughts and prayers toward me.
Thank you,
Steve Zakuani

Zakuani embodies everything I admire in people
and what I want this club to be.

This shows a state of mind that points to a successful mental recovery,
which will be a much greater challenge than the physical recovery.

Best wishes on a quick recovery!!

China was once bordering the United States, until Chuck Norris roundhouse kicked it all the way through the Earth.
aw frick
The way conversation was going, it seemed right that we start doing Chuck Norris facts, but about Steve. And I moronically copy/paste without changing the name.

That's cool
Steve Zakuani is so potent he can’t be contained within a single human being and is instead divided between the entities we know of as Steve Zakuani, Chuck Norris, and Bruce Lee.

Just in case you didn't think we were big time here
Steve linked to this page in his twitter post for his open letter.
Big time.

This
I was unfortunately on the receiving end of a mistimed tackle
sounds like Steve has forgiven Brian Mullan. That’s not what I might expect from a young man like Steve. But as we have found, Steve Zakuani isn’t ordinary. His example is one that I have chosen to follow. Let’s get ready for Toronto.
You will hear us on Brougham, you will hear us on Occidental, you will hear us on King. We are all around you, there is no escape.

So Proud
To call Steve-o a fellow UAkronite. Loved watching him in college, he was a classy player then and continues to be one now.
How could anyone not like Steve?
He’s been calm, cool, and collected thoughout the whole thing. It’s great to have such a classy level headed player on our team. Glad his is taking this so well and I hope his recovery goes well so we can see him in the playoffs. Thank you Steve for showing how everyone should react in similar circumstances.
I know why right backs wouldn’t want to play against him though!
