710 ESPN's New Sounders FC Podcast
Inspired by the comments/discussion that follwed from sidereal's "710ESPN is dead to me" post, on Saturday I decided to contact someone at mynorthwest.com and ask why Sounders FC Weekly, hosted by Matt Johnson is not available as a podcast. To my surprise, I received a response to my mail today informing me that they had created a podcast feed for the show. They've created a page with links for subscribing with iTunes, Zune, and raw RSS. Go subscribe now!
After the break I share the full text of my exchange with the contact at the station. Names are removed to protect the innocent...
My initial mail:

Subject: Sounder FC WeeklyHello, I am writing you because your email address was linked to from the "contact us" page for 710 ESPN.
Why is the weekly radio show hosted by Matt Johnson which covers Sounders FC not available as a podcast? I see that almost all other local programming from the station is available on mynorthwest.com as a podcast, but not Sounders FC Weekly. Why? In fact, the page for the show (link) used to have comments on it begging for a podcast to be made available. The comments have been removed with no explanation.
The poor scheduling of the show (Saturday mornings) does not allow me to listen with any regularity as I often have commitments and activities on Saturday mornings where I am unable to be near a radio. I suspect this is true for the vast majority of Sounders FC fans. Please make the show available as a podcast. I can assure you that there are many fans who would subscribe to it.

Subject: RE: Sounder FC WeeklyExcellent. Thank you. I have just added it to my Zune. I will be posting a fan blog entry on sounderatheart.com this evening or tomorrow to notify Sounders fans of this great new addition. I expect many of them will subscribe. Sounders fans have a very strong online presence as a result of the limited coverage provided by traditional media. Creating this podcast is definitely a step in the right direction and is appreciated.
So there you have it. Ask and ye shall receive, or rather, you don't get what you don't ask for. :) Now everyone should go and subscribe to send a clear message that Sounders FC fans are out there and we want good, accessible coverage of our team by the local media.
FanPosts only represent the opinions of the poster, not of Sounder at Heart.

Neat. I guess it's always good to ask.
I’d point out that the link you provided isn’t the actual podcast RSS (not that you claim it is). Here’s that link, if anyone wants one less click.
Arlo unfiltered on the Mullan tackle
I was just listening to April 23rd show and at about 15:20 he starts talking about Zakuani and Mullan. He’s clearly very upset about it the day after it happened. He makes great points talking through it.
Secret Feed
It’s also been included the last few weeks in the secret sounder video podcast feed.

They started the feed before the inaugural year, but I’ve never heard it mentioned again since then. It’s been consistently updated over the last two years though. Every video posted to the site shows up on it. It even includes the TV sounders FC weekly.

Kudos!
This is great news. I’m sure that many of us based upon the limited support KIRO has provided up til this time figured reaching out like you did would have been a waste of time.
Thanks for making the effort and stating the advantages of adding the podcast. Let alone getting some positive results.
