Kitsap Pumas Advance To Face Seattle Sounders In Third Round Of US Open Cup
When the Pete Fewing led Kitsap Pumas beat the Real Colorado Foxes 3-1 tonight over in Bremerton a derby may have been born. Jeremiah re-christened it the "Kaleetan Derby" after one of the ferries on the route. As West Sound and Seattle meet to advance from the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup Third Round next Tuesday over in Starfire. As noted earlier today, this is going to be a short turn around for Seattle, but at least they are at home. Tickets go on sale at 10AM at both box offices and via Ticketmaster. There will be a webcast at SoundersFC.com as well. Seattle is now going to play 3 matches in 6 days. Lineup juggling anyone?
Bryan Meredith has a knock that has kept him out of goal in the First Round, but returned tonight to start. The Seattle Sounders draft pick only gave up one goal, and that as an own goal from a teammate. Robby Christener had a brace, and Cameron Hepple scored in the first half of the 3-1 win.
Those entered in our US Open Cup Pick'em contest will have to wait as the Chicago Fire Premier and Madison 56ers will need a replay due to severe weather in the upper Midwest. Heavy thunderstorms with lighting led the match to being called.

What exactly is an own goal?
That header was going in regardless of Mohn’s touch. He roofed it trying to hit an overhead clearance and I was suspect of giving it the OG tag as the PA announcer gave it to the RCF player.
Go 56ers!
I’m 3 for 4 so far in the second round, with only N.Y. Pancyprian Freedoms losing and they lost it on penalty kicks.
i wish i could go!!
ill be on a flight back from san fran! it lands at 8:40 so im hoping for good news when i land!
Eliminations?
I tried looking for folks on the lower end of the bracket that were mathematically eliminated and the closest I could find was ColinMacLeod whose 3pts and 10 PPR would put him at 13.
Minnows has 7 points with a guaranteed 8th tonight. Then 12 PPR.
I don’t think anyone’s mathematically eliminated yet, but I don’t have the time/patience to put together a program/spreadsheet to calculate that today :)
He's not on their roster
So they’d actually have to sign him first.

Apologies because I don't really understand the roster rules
But do the Sounders still have his ‘rights’, and can sign him at any time at their leisure, or could he potentially be signed by any MLS team?
He can be signed by any team
You will hear us on Brougham, you will hear us on Occidental, you will hear us on King. We are all around you, there is no escape.
This kinda sucks
And although I’m happy Kitsap advanced so this far, I hate for the Sounders to be the team to take them out.
Nah
My loyalties to other Puget Sound teams end when they play the Sounders.

Lineups will be interesting
Do we have an injury rept for the week yet? Lineup shifts are manageable… but a lingering Brad Evans injury would certainly not be ideal this week. Would force some guys into starting roles that they might wish to save for Sunday/Tuesday.
5 or 6
thought Leo had a green card, but the official roster still lists him as International.

Mayers
details how the Pumas upcoming schedule is even worse than Seattle’s.
You will hear us on Brougham, you will hear us on Occidental, you will hear us on King. We are all around you, there is no escape.
Hopefully the league moves Kitsap's Wednesday game, for their sake
Funny that the schedule would be so congested during USOC play. I probably don’t want to know the half of their scheduling conflicts, though.
im so excited!!!
me and my dad will be there, my first game at starfire!
