CONCACAF Champions League Prelim Ticketing Will Have Presale
Seattle Sounders FC will have a pre-sale to season ticket holders who will have right of first refusal on their seats. This is similar to last year's CONCACAF Champions League run. As always stay tuned to your official season ticket email for notifications as to when these go on sale tomorrow. The tickets will be in three tiers at 30, 22 and 15 dollars.
After the season ticket window closes sales will be offered to the general public on July 6th. In the last CCL cycle the Sounders finished third in attendance (4th by occupancy) to only the two Finalists with a 15,736 average over the four home matches. If Seattle has a chance at making the knockouts there should be a trend upward, and with fans having a greater familiarity with the depth on the team that should help as well.
Press Release from late last week;
RENTON, Wash. - The Sounders FC announced tickets will go on sale for the second leg of the CONCACAF Champions League preliminary round on Wednesday, July 6 at 10 a.m. The Sounders FC will host Panama's San Francisco FC August 3 at CenturyLink Field. Kick-off is 7 p.m. PT.
Tickets will be available at www.SoundersFC.com, by calling 800-745-3000, all Ticketmaster outlets and the CenturyLink Field Box Office.
The Sounders FC will play the first leg of the Preliminary Round in Panama at the home stadium of San Francisco FC on Tuesday, July 26 at 5 p.m. PT. The winners advance to the six-round Group Stage, which will begin August 16-18 and conclude October 18-20.
The Sounders FC-San Francisco FC winner will advance to Group D, joining defending Champions League winner CF Monterrey (Mexico), CD Comunicaciones (Guatemala) and the winner of the preliminary round matchup between CS Herediano (Costa Rica) and Alpha United of Guyana.
Seattle won its 2010-11 Preliminary Round series with El Salvador's Isidro Metapan, 2-1 on aggregate, and later finished fourth in its group, which included Monterrey. San Francisco lost to Mexico's Cruz Azul, 9-2 on aggregate, in the Preliminary Round.
Seattle earned a berth in the Champions League Preliminary round by virtue of winning the 2010 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup.
FC Dallas, last season's MLS Cup finalist, will also participate in the Preliminary Round. Supporters' Shield winner L.A Galaxy and MLS Cup winner Colorado Rapids have berths in the Group Stage.
The CONCACAF Champions League is open to the leading teams from federations throughout North America, Central America and the Caribbean.
Monterrey won the 2010-11 CONCACAF Champions League last month, defeating Real Salt Lake, 3-2 on aggregate.

price increase
If I recall correctly, last year my tix were only $10 (Sec 105). That’s quite an increase.
No kidding
That is quite the jump. Surprising given what the attendance numbers are for those games.

Yeah, they didn't sell out against Metapan...
…and are very unlikely to sell out against San Francisco at those prices. Too bad, I wish sports franchises would go for maximizing fans in the seats first and ticket prices second.
+50% Price Increase? Learned my lesson last year
Even though a starting price of $15 is not exorbitant I won’t be in any hurry to purchase tickets this year. Instead I’ll purchase tickets at the CenturyLink Field box office on or before the day of the game to save on the all the fees that Racketmaster adds on.
The price increases already have me wondering how they will impact the attendance this year.
On a side note. One of the things I really appreciated last year was the chance to view the game play from different perspectives by purchasing tickets for seats in different locations of the stadium.
Fees
If i go through my sounders fc ticket rep do i still get charged fees? does anyone know? If so i will just walk down to quest one day and save money. Hell i could pay a limo to take me there and still save money. Ticketmaster fees are crazy. Especialy for $15 tickets.
pretty sure if you buy through your rep there are no fees

Funny story about last years CCL
One of the games I actually had a ticket for my company suite (field level suite behind the north goal) but I wanted to watch the game with my buddies and they wanted to watch from the ECS section (since we never get to sit there). I said ok and met up with them there. About 20 minutes later we got kicked out of that section since our tickets were not designated there, even though there were plenty of seats to be had.
Might be the first time ever that someone has been removed from their seat for attempting to “downgrade” their seat….

What am I missing in the purchase screen?
A few questions…
1) Why are only the group stage matches listed? Can we not secure our seats at all for the preliminary match?
2) States we can “pay as we play” but then invoices me for the full $150?
3) If we don’t make it to the group stage, does my $150 get refunded?
