Nos Audietis, Episode 14: Zach Scott Talks Timbers

Nos_audietis_05_medium

It's derby weekend once again, with the Sounders traveling to Jeld-Wen Field to take on the MLS Timbers in Portland for the first time. Zach Scott was kind enough to chat with Jeremiah about his experience with the rivalry (which, despite Zach's time with the pre-MLS Sounders being well known, is so extensive that it surprised us.) We'll also talk about the Timbers' recent struggles and our predictions for Sunday's game.

It's not all Portland all the time though; there's a look back at Monday's 0-0 draw at the Home Depot Center and a look ahead at Seattle's upcoming US Open Cup date with the Galaxy (or a bunch of dudes wearing their shirts, in any case.)

What a load of

Frank Lampard missed PKs so we shouldn’t expect Montero to score PK? Players miss, Keepers make saves… what a load of crap. I don’t think you are holding Montero to a higher accoutability. I don’t want to be all ra-ra about this, but it was an easy save. A rookie goalie out guessed Fredy, and the shot wasn’t quality enough to even get past a keeper who guessed correctly. It wasn’t good enough and Montero should be looking over his sholder for the GM to have a talk with him. I was home los audietis staff to be a bit harder on Montero, but instead I hear them giving him a pass. brutal.

Not sure what you want...

We didn’t excuse the miss. We said it happens. Of course he should have made it. But in the bigger picture, no, I don’t think his missing a PK is a huge indictment of him as a player.

GM

I think the GM will question the low amount of goals this season and the high price tag of his contract. Sigi has already alluded to it. Expectations of a DP are probably unreal, but it should have been better. Yes you said as much, but it just sounded like you gave him a pass as other players have had penalties saved.
Does anybody think we will see Montero on another PK this season? I don’t. Brad in the game or not.
I do appreciate the show though, keep up the good work. Sound quality keeps getting better and better.

wtf are you talking about?

Am I in some sort of bizzaro world? I initially posted under the “leveque to start” post left by Dave.

I guess I was just pointing out that Sigi is going to go with Roger down in Portland. Just a comment to the audietis episode today. I didn’t feel the commentators in the episode thought Roger was going to start.

I’m actually surprised Sigi would announce roger to start. He usually keeps that kind of stuff top secret.
