Mauro Rosales was on ExtraTime Radio today (Aug-25 starting at the 40 minute mark). This is my transcript of the interview, which isn't word-for-word.

What brought you to MLS?
I have a relationship with Darío Sala. He was a player for Dallas here in the MLS. He knows the league and everything. I talked with him when I had the problem in Mexico, and he said, "you have to come to the League." He offered me to come to Seattle...Yeah I think it was something because of Darío. He told me that the League was okay, and I didn’t doubt it. I just come and try to do my best for the team, also for the league because now we’re playing international tournaments. I think it was a very good decision to come here.

You played in Holland, you played down in Argentina. What did your agent tell you about the League, and how your style would fit?
I saw already the League before when Guillermo Barros Schelotto was playing here. When amazing player like Thierry Henry, David Beckham, Landon Donovan, or some of the other guys that are playing very good. We can see from Argentina when I was in River, I saw many games from the League. It was amazing how they built this League. I’m in a very young team, and the success that this team has had is perfect. The fans are unbelievable. Playing with this kind of atmosphere for every game is perfect, and it seems like times playing in Argentina.

What’s the reputation that the MLS has down in Argentina? Do fans have a new respect now that all these players are coming up and playing here?
This is why many players are coming to the MLS. We are many now. This is why in Argentina you can see every single day there are 5, 6, or 7 programs about football, and they follow us. They talk about the Argentinean players playing in MLS. This is also important for the guys that play in Argentina. They can follow us and try to have the decision to come to this League. They think it is important too.

How important is it for Seattle this year that you guys do well in the CONCACAF Championship League?
I think it’s good. It’s very good for the League. It’s very good for us to play against big teams like we did Tuesday. We are playing against Monterrey or CONCACAF teams in our group. After the groups they become more difficult stage to play. It’s very important for us to know how we can play against them. They have unlimited caps to bring players and powerful teams. We are ready to play against them and to show that we’re a good team too.

What is it like to come into Seattle and become a fan-favorite?
This is one of the best parts since I’ve arrived in Seattle. They give me the confidence and the enthusiasm for me to come onto the field and to do my best. Every player needs something to play for. I am playing for the fans, and also my teammates because we are doing a very good job. We don’t win everything, but we show that we’re a good team. We have to keep doing that, try to keep all the good things, try to figure out our mistakes, try to grow up.

Have you had a chance to talk to Schelotto about MLS before?
No I haven’t had the chance to talk with Guillermo, but I’ve talked with Claudio López. He was playing in Kansas City and he’s from my province. He knows too much about the League. I’ve talked with Marcelo Gallardo, he was a player for DC. They told me about the League. "It’s amazing. Many players can come here and do a good job."

What do you think about the city of Seattle, and America in general?
I’m enjoying it so much. This is why I’m trying to stay for a long time here, because it is a great country. Everything is very professional. I’m living in the city that is perfect. That time now with the weather is amazing. I’m enjoying it. I’m trying to do my best here, because I want to stay a few more years.

The weather’s not amazing in the winter, though.
I know how cold it can get, but I’ve be been in Holland, and it’s almost the same.
