Terry Boss Called Up To Puerto Rico National Team
Seattle Sounders backup goalkeeper Terry Boss will miss Tuesday's U.S. Open Cup semifinal against FC Dallas after being called up to the Puerto Rico national team for a pair of World Cup qualifiers. This would be Boss' sixth cap with El Huracan Azul. Boss, an Oregon native, became eligible to play for Puerto Rico after spending two seasons with the Puerto Rico Islanders (2006-07).
Puerto Rico will play St. Kitts and Nevis in a Sept. 2 and Canada on Sept. 6.
Boss has appeared in four competitive match for the Sounders this year, winning all four games. His best game came this week in a 1-0 shut out of Monterrey.

Congratulations Terry!
Will we get to see Ford or Keller on Tuesday?

I agree. Even if there was a game the next weekend, this is a game of major importance, so I’d pen Keller in regardless.
Boo! Tomorrow AM. I want all things now!
It's not like he'll be worn out physically
Goalkeeper is the one position where you can pretty play multiple games every week, barring injury, without feeling too much ill effect.
I know that when I think Puerto Rican
I think Terry Boss.

I think his time with PR Islanders allowed him to play for PR
I also think that qualification has changed though. Pretty sure that’s how Taylor Graham played for PR as well.

Yeah, Jeremiah said as much
The juxtaposition of Terry Boss and Puerto Rico is just a little funny to me.
whoops
I didn’t even read it. I get what you’re saying. I laughed

They used to pick any US citizen

Oh No
How will we survive without the Hero of Estadio Technologico?!
You will hear us on Brougham, you will hear us on Occidental, you will hear us on King. Our yachts are all around you, there is no escape.
Hopefully not Ford
I have concerns he’s not ready for primetime. He didn’t have a good combine IMHO and I haven’t seen him since. Tons of potential though.
I would be stunned if Ford started such a big game
If there was absolutely no choice, I’d rather he start vs Columbus and Kasey play the knock-out game on Tues. I’m pretty sure Keller will play in both matches.
Good experience for him
Espcially vs Canada. Kind of odd to think that we have a national team first choice keeper as a backup.
Good for him
Terry Boss is growing on me as the Sounders keeper of the future, and the article on the club’s website today shows that he has had a good year.
Brian Meredith
What is Brian Meredith’s connection to the Sounders? He was listed on the roster for the Whitecaps reserve league game.
he was drafted by sounders and is on their "college protected list"
also continues to train with team. Not on roster.

Sounders drafted Meredith and Ford. Ford won the right to be the team's 3rd keeper this year.
The team then worked with the Kitsap Pumas to get Meredith a job with them for their season. Now that their season is over, he’s back training with the Sounders.
Diamonds on my neck...
You don’t have to love him, you don’t even have to like him, but you will respect him.
