The background: The Sounders had a lot of great goals and saves against them, causing frustrating results in the first few games of the year. It was said that the Sounders had some of the worst luck gaining points due to these records. I had time to kill and a little bit of curiosity toward verifying that statement.  So I took a look, and then I went a little further and created a fun junk stat called Frustration Index.  The formula is 2 points for a goal/save of the week winner against the team, -1 point for a goal/save of the week winner for the team. Nominees against are worth 1 point.  Nominees for are worth -0.5 points.The reasoning for that was getting great goals or saves tempers the score a little, but those heart-ripper goals against your team or amazing saves to stonewall scoring chances are just a little more painful. The higher the number, the more frustrating results.  

This is not meant to be a real stat, so please don't try to infer anything from it. The goal and save of the week contests are more or less popularity contests, so this is just a fun exercise in who's bearing the brunt of these highlight reel plays.
