Major Link Soccer - Goku Edition
It's been a slow weekend in MLS with most of the league, including the Seattle Sounders, on break. In Sounders news there's a new interview with Chris Henderson on the Sounders website that covers the state of the team as it nears the playoffs. There's also some video highlights from James Riley's successful 7-a-side tournament. Riley partnered with the Sounders and Gorilla FC to raise nearly $15,000 for the Renton/Skyway Boys & Girls Club.
USA Suffers First Loss Under Klinsmann: The US Men's National Team looked a bit shambolic in the 1-0 loss to Costa Rica on Friday. The biggest problems were in the defense and finishing. Some of the newcomers like Brek Shea shined while others like Michael Orozco Fiscal had less than stellar performances. It was a friendly where Klinsmann was still experimenting with new players and formations. Hopefully, after the performance, Jurgen Klinsmann will bring some additional help to focus on the poor state of US finishing.

MLS Action: The league does have a couple of key games this weekend due to some earlier cancellations. The first was a tough game for the Philadelphia Union at Rio Tinto. They lost 2-1 to an injury plagued Real Salt Lake team. The Union needed a win against RSL to push their way back onto the top of the Eastern Conference standings. The win for RSL helps them get within two games of both FC Dallas and the Seattle Sounders with 2 games in hand. Later today the Los Angeles Galaxy travel to Kansas City in a battle that could decide the Supporter's Shield race.
Bradley Weighing Options: Former USMNT coach Bob Bradley is currently exploring his future coaching options. He is currently in the running for the head job at the Egyptian national team and they should make a decision this week. Bradley is also interviewing with Santos Laguna. He was recently photographed in the Torreon airport and was a trending Twitter topic in Mexico.
Sounders at the Beach: The Seattle Sounders have had a close connection with the beach soccer community. Technical director Chris Henderson is a former beach soccer player in the 1995 Beach World Cup. This year the team fielded a team in the Mundialito Beach Soccer World Championships. However, they didn't reprise the local Soccer Beach Blast at Alkai.
Kimura Loves the Dragonball: Colorado Rapids right back is one of the few Japanese players in the states and a big fan favorite. In this short video clip he shows why as he waxes philosophical about the life lessons of Dragonball Z and why Conor Casey is so easy to hit on crosses (hint: it's his big, shiny white dome).

RSL is 6 points back of us and 3 or 4 back of FCD, aren't they?
So that’d be 2 games back, with two in hand.
2010 Sounder Blue Away Jersey
I sure miss the look of this jersey. I have always liked this color. Does anyone know if they plan to bring this color back or has the shale won allegiance. That authentic 2010 blue is on sale everywhere, half off. I think Sports Authority is better buy, plus you still can ask for any name on back. I’m thinking about purchasing, but would wait if they are bringing them back. Also, is the long sleeve style coming back or not?
