ECS Monthly Happy Hour and America SCORES Seattle Partner

The number of times we get asked to post stuff related to the numerous charity endeavours of the Seattle Sounders, or the various Supporters Groups, and don't post is actually quite large. Nearly weekly there is something going on to benefit the greater community. For those that are in the SGs feel free to FanPost. That system is practically built for you.

But since I will be going to the ECS Monthly Happy Hour at Temple Billiards Thursday Night I wanted to let our readers know about it directly. There is a cover for this event (5$ at the door) and drink specials, raffles, etc. in order to help raise money for America SCORES. America SCORES is a youth program that uses soccer to inspire literacy.

So the event is for a good cause, and if you want a soft sell on what ECS is, or to meet other Sounders fans in a non-gameday environment this might be a good time. I'll be there in the #ChurchOfFucito shirt with the Nos Audietis scarf.

Here's what ECS posted on the facebook page for the event

For September’s ECS Monthly Happy Hour, The Emerald City Supporters are collaborating with America SCORES Seattle for a Sounders Bartender Night. Sounders players will be joining us at Temple Billiards on Thursday, September 8th, 2011 from 5-8pm. For $5 you can play a round of pool with a player and there will be several drinks on special. There will be a raffle for Sounders gear and other cool prizes such as a Budweiser lounge ...chair, Budweiser Sounders mirror and a Rolling Rock electric guitar.

There will be a $5 cover for this event. More details on prizes, drink specials and which players to appear will be updated soon.

*All proceeds benefit the children served by America SCORES Seattle.

Many have asked, "What's the best way to get involved in ECS and really get to know the members?" Matchday is usually the worst time as most of us are busy fulfilling differing roles for ECS operations (tifo, capo, street team, etc.). That is why we have created the monthly happy hours for people to come out when most of our core members are really able to relax and have a drink away from the chaos.

We encourage anyone who wants to meet new people, find out how you can get more involved, or just have a pint with friends to join us. This is the perfect opportunity to really get to know some of the leadership and core members in a very casual environment, as well as let them get to know you. Feel free to come by yourself or with other friends who might be interested in the ECS and Sounders. The happy hours will rotate every month.

Temple Billiards
126 S Jackson St
Seattle, WA 98104-2821

Players that have indicated they will come, but are not assured, are: Mike Fucito, James Riley, Taylor Graham, Mike Seamon & Lamar Neagle. There may be more, there may be less, their names may be different. Any player who shows up is doing so of their own will and plans may change on a moment's notice.

I hope to see a few of you there.
