HTML code: & aelig; (with no space after &)
HTML nums: & #230; (same)
Mac keyboard: option+'
PC keyboard: alt+0230 (using keypad)

but if you have a numlock key (mine is function+screenlock) you probably have a set of keys designated as a keypad (mine is 7-8-9, u-i-o, j-k-l, m) that you can use with the alt command.
