Just watched this video posted by Kejsare at Stumptown Footy very interesting. There may not be many opportunities for soccer broadcasts to insert replays and the mechanics of the game due to the continuous nature of the game, but for sure there is a complete lack of it when the opportunity is given. We can’t expect Sports Center or a show of that nature to start talking about the mechanics of soccer. It is necessary that we start demanding the mechanics that Christopher Medley suggests be a part of the broadcasts we already watch.

Saw this video posted the other day and didn't want to waste the time
Glad I finally watched, entertaining and informational video without droning on and on.
Aside from his plea for a job at the end.

I thought it was odd that he complained about Italy's fascination with formations
and how America has adopted that
And then says American broadcasts need to talk more about strategy and tactics.
I should also note that on this site we avoid nebulous phrases like ‘form’ or ’a good idea" without describing exactly what the idea is/was. It is part of what I think is missing in ALL soccer coverage. A lack of specifics is plain silly.

Think he was saying the general American audience would have no idea what switching from a 4-4-2 to a 4-5-1 when all the announcers said was they had clogged the midfield and the other team had given into the long ball.
He had a good critique, but all of his answers were shown in examples of how they were done in another sports broadcast, but not in a soccer broadcast. If he wants a really good job he’ll have to show how he thinks that will be done.
