Eric Wynalda's NSCCA Seminar
A full transcript isn't out yet, but this Storify of tweets by Philly.com writer Tannenwald captures the essence of Wynalda. That essence shows a certain affinity for pro/rel, split schedules, incentivized contracts and professional training.

Wynalda reminda me
of that kid in school who hears a new theory on something and all of a sudden it’s a cold hard fact.

funny thing about "free thinkers" who aren't afraid to express themselves...
while others are so busy questioning their sanity, making fun if them, and automatically disregarding whatever they say or write, they continue to seek out those interested in having those conversations. The free expression of ideas is the key to innovation and progress.
Some call it thinking “outside of the box”, but to many people, its just “thinking”
...and you will hear us scream

Except that nothing he's saying
is outside the box. As a matter of fact, most of what MLS is doing is “outside the box”.

No one limited his free expression
They question the validity of his claims and his unwillingness to this point to share those ideas in a realm where he is questioned. He faced a small (one attendee said there were 20 present) crowd of people who agreed with him.

no one is saying that some of what he says does not have validity
As a matter of fact many of his points do in my opinion have some validity but there is a difference in saying these ideas to a crowd who thinks like you and defending it in front of people who (rightly) should be able to question some of his unorthodox or imo unrealistic ideas. Progress is not made by getting 20 people together who all think the same thing. Progress is made in debate and fully developed and thoroughly vetted ideas that can be translated in the real world.
