Sounders Acquire MF Andy Rose in Supplemental Draft Day Trade
Lost in the Supplemental Draft news was a post draft trade. The Seattle Sounders traded the rights to Leone Cruz for the rights to UCLA MF Andy Rose. Rose was selected by RSL as the 6th overall pick in today's Supplemental Draft.

This was a great, great pickup...
Joe Mauceri had him listed as the #6 midfielder overall (higher than lots of 1st rounders like Garza) and gives him a solid “B” (Likely to make the team. Could make roster, may take a year or more to get to the first team.). Sigi gets his UCLA guy…so he stops twitching uncontrollably…and we lose nothing but the rights to a player we had no intentions of ever signing (thus freeing him, which is only fair). Rose is a box-to-box mid – just the kind of guy we love…plus, he’s got size! Should be an interesting guy to watch during training. Will he be able to adjust to the speed of the MLS game? Certainly worth and almost-free shot. Well done FO, and good luck Leone.
