Friberg Gets First Appearance, Johansson Goes Full 90 in Sweden Win
As has been previous mentioned here on Sounder at Heart, these January games typically involve a Swedish team composed almost entirely of Allsvenskan players, as the Swedish season, like MLS, is on break while other leagues like the Italian league are in full-swing. That means no Ibrahimovic, etc....but big opportunity for other players to make a statement and stake their claim.
Adam Johansson wore #2 and went the full 90 in back for Sweden in a 2-0 shut out of Bahrain. The highlights of this match, played in front of nearly no one, can be seen using the link at the bottom of this post. Our man Adam appears briefly in the highlights to congratulate Oscar Hiljemark after the second goal.
Erik Friberg was invited to join the team after two invited players were unable to make the trip. He subbed on in the late minutes in his first national team appearance for Sweden. I'm not sure if Sweden considers this game a "cap" or not...but I think I speak for all Sounders fans when I say congratulations to both players.

Hope Erik celebrated with some post-game tacos!
