Eddie Johnson was just about everywhere for the United States, setting up Clint Dempsey's game-winner, nearly picking up a couple more and coming close to scoring his third goal in two games.
It may not have been a strong enough performance to quiet the critics, but after going down a goal to Guatemala, the United States turned in a strong performance. Once again, Eddie Johnson was in the middle of it. Starting at left mid for the second straight game, Johnson set up the game-winner on a perfectly placed cross, easily could have had a couple more assists and nearly bagged a goal for himself.
