Both will likely be missed for the Sounders' league fixture versus Real Salt Lake

UPDATE: Sounders coach Sigi Schmid said Adam Johansson would leave the team on Monday. Martinez could leave as early as Saturday if the Sounders don't expect him to start against the Timbers.

One of the issues with having good-great players on your club is that, occasionally, you don't have them. This will be the case next weekend, during a key league match, as Mario Martinez and Adam Johansson will be leaving the Seattle Sounders to answer national team call ups for World Cup Qualifiers.

Johansson's flight will take him first to his home country of Sweden in a group match against the Faroe Islands on October 12, before flying with the team to Berlin for a match with Germany four days later.

Martinez, on the other hand, will be on his way to Panama for the Oct. 12 date, then will return home to host Canada on the 16. He will be joined by six other MLS players on his Honduran squad.

Both players will presumably miss the Wednesday, October 17 Sounders home match versus Real Salt Lake, but should be good to go this weekend, as well as on Sunday, October 21 as they take on FC Dallas.
