Supporters vs. Customers

After the match on Sunday about the only retort from Portland seems this belief that at least they are real supporters and not a bunch of customers. I've never been clear how they can so clearly distinguish, but thankfully I was able to find the following two images from the game that show the stark contrast between Timbers Army and ECS.

Notice that real supporters wear a mix of replica jerseys, team logo attire and casual wear, whereas the customers are sporting a mix of replica jerseys, team logo attire, and casual wear. Additionally TA is involved with a chant where they splay their arms and yell where as in sharp contrast ECS chanting while holding their arms apart above their heads.

Frankly the differences couldn't be more apparent, I'm surprised I never noticed before.
