With less rest for the Seattle Sounders in between the semis and the Western Conference Finals than the LA Galaxy injury concerns are a bit more significant for the Rave Green. Today, the update on Mauro Rosales indicated that he is almost certainly going to be back for Leg Two on the 18th.
"In terms of the health situation, Rosales is certainly better and still holding out some hope there." Sigi stated. "We know now we're in the first game of two with him so we're going to be a little more cautious because we think by next weekend he should be fully ready."
Coach Schmid would later address Leo Gonzalez health status, "Leo's making progress. it's the same as with Mauro. Our hope is a little more for him in the second leg than the first."
Gonzalez' status is made a bit more important due to Marc Burch's use of a gay slur, for which he has apologized. He and the team were waiting for word from the league as to if there would be any actions from MLS.
"I think what he [Burch] did by doing that he deserves a lot of respect and recognition from everybody. It would have been very easy to not say anything, but he felt it was very important to come forward about it. He felt he had made an error and he wanted to express it that way. It's very commendable of him to do that. I don't think that would have been the case with everyone." Sigi said, "now we'll wait to see what they say and then we'll make our own decisions as we go forward."
The LA Galaxy have a few injuries as well. Christian Wilhelmsson is limited by quad tightness. The winger appeared in the win over San Jose, but the report makes it seem likely that he would still be unlikely to start.,
