In a playoff match where both goalkeepers gave dominating performances, it was hard for any one save to to really stand out. Real Salt Lake's Nick Rimando surely had his best match ever and Seattle Sounders FC's Michael Gspurning was his steady, wall-like self. But since we root for the good guys, Gspurning's sliding save gets our animated gif attention.

As many times that Real Salt Lake's Nick Rimando came up with a big save to keep the score at 0-0, Seattle Sounders FC's Michael Gspurning surely matched him at the other end of the pitch. Rimando was surely the overall man of the match with a goalkeeper performance for the ages, but since we are Sounder at Heart and I am a homer - the animated gif of choice is of The Cerberus. On a counter-attack by RSL, Ned Grabavoy was played through and just about clear to goal. Gspurning timed his run out from goal perfectly and paired that with a perfect sliding tackle to parry away the goal chance for Salt Lake. Dangerous chance defeated. The Sounders' gates successfully guarded by our mythical beast once again.
