Details of Sounders-Santos Laguna Away Viewing Party
Sounder at Heart is co-hosting (along with Golazo) an away viewing party for the second leg of the Sounders-Santos Laguna CONCACAF Champions League quarterfinal on March 14 from 4 p.m.-9:30ish. The event will double as our scarf distribution event. We of course appreciate those of you who have bought and will buy scarves, but buying a scarf is not a mandatory part of attending. The event is ALL AGES and OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. (Speaking of which, the scarves are still for sale. For details read this post.)
The event will be held at the Golazo Headquarters in Capitol Hill, 714 E. Pike Street. There's a rather massive big screen there and plenty of room for as many people as would want to attend. By having it here, rather than at a bar, we're able to open it up to all ages, which we really hope will encourage some of our younger-than-21 readers, as well as those of you with kids, to attend.
Never fear, though, there will be beer available. There will likely be a small cover charge (to cover us from a legality perspective, as well as cover any expenses) but any proceeds will be given to an as-yet-to-be-determined charity.
The doors will open at 4 p.m. and we'll be hanging out until at least the conclusion of the Galaxy-Toronto FC match. Please feel free to join us at any point during the evening. We realize a 5 p.m. start time is not ideal, especially to be in Capitol Hill, but we encourage you to arrive early and feel free to stay late.
Please check out the event's Facebook page to RSVP and for various updates.

Golazo party
First, if you love soccer, there is no better place to be than Golazo HQ for a viewing party or any shindig they throw for that matter.
Also, please take this as my RSVP as I am not on Facebook and will not be able to do it there.
Best,
Adam

Count me in
I’ll be there. Don’t have a Facebook account so this is my R.S.V.P. (although I may just end up stopping by to pick up my scarf)
We Will Follow You Where Ever You May Go!
Coming up from 253
I am also sans FB, so RSVPing here. I always have a terrible time parking on Capitol Hill. If someone has a recommendation I’d appreciate the hell out of it.

That's a great charity.
Can I send a check to support it even if I can’t attend?

If I come to the party...
…will the Sounder at Heart faithful pick up the cost of any beer I get above PRB? After all, spending more doesn’t mean jack in the MLS.
that's hilarious!!!!

There’s no evidence that I’ll like a beer better just because it costs more. In fact, in Europe they can spend and get more on quality here. But since people here in America generally like light beer out of a can, there’s little evidence that the American market as a whole would be more interested in a more expensive, tastier beer. In fact, in 2004 one of my friends from Seattle started drinking the most expensive microbrews he could all season. By the end he didn’t like beer more, in fact some of the heavier beers didnt sit well with his stomach.
He’s since retained this attitude about beer and instead of trying to go out and find that unique beer, likely, necessarily, more expensive, that he truly finds the best, he sits at the bar happy to be pleasantly, successfully drunk on his miller light.
Yes, I get it.
It’s still dumb. Time to let it go.
