Sorry about another front paged FanShot, but it seems former Sounder Nate Jaqua is nearing retirement. More fresh SaH content soon.

That's too bad
I counted myself among the dwindling Jaqua fans. I hope he’s able to figure something out. I really believe he has more left.

He needs to figure out how to be Zombie Jaqua all the time.
You will hear us on Brougham, you will hear us on Occidental, you will hear us on King. Our yachts are all around you, there is no escape.

Whether the tank is empty or not
He was a big part of the Sounders success in 2009, so I’ll always have good memories of that. Whatever he decides, I wish him well.

Thank you for finding a nice way to say this
I haven’t been able to find a good way to say “he’s washed up but did alot for the team in 2009”.
He also won the official award for 2010 USOC Player of the Tournament
Despite only playing being subbed at 90+3’ in the final. Five goals in the three other matches. That contribution is pretty much on par with his 2009 contributions in MLS.
Yes! He was a big part
of our run up to our 2010 USOC championship. I was always a fan of him as a person though he frustrated me as a player in 2011.

He frustrated me in 2010 too
And actually parts of 2009 as well.
I always like him as a player, but even in 2009 it seemed with a bit more sharpness he could have done even more.
Sad
I’m a big fan of his. Jaqua was huge for us in 2009 and was a good pro. I wish him well for sure.
"The fans are excited. And the stadium, well, it ignites with explosion."
My first Sounders match
Was the game against Houston at Star Fire when Nate became “Zombie Jaqua” so I owe a chunk of my fandom to that goofy dude. Thanks for the memories, Nate.
Go banana!
I was hoping a change of scenery would allow him to get a bit of his mojo back
I hope he lands somewhere and his mojo gets all cross-mojinated. NE is probably the place lots of careers go to die ATM, so it might not be a bad thing if he doesn’t stick there, but hopefully he lands somewhere. In the right situation, I think he could stick in a handful of goals and assists over the course of a season still.
