NBC Gets Goosebumps Tingling With Latest MLS Promo
The fact that this promo appears to feature the Timbers Army signing the National Anthem aside, the latest promo from NBC Sports Network should be enough to get us all pumped. And for those of you who like counting these things, there are at least two appearances of Sounders.

I'll be more impressed when
The NBCSports.com website has more than just this page as their “MLS Coverage”
http://scores.nbcsports.msnbc.com/mls/scoreboard_week.asp
But yes… still a great video!
I've said it before, I'll say it again
I honestly hope NBC’s website continues to suck. That said, the only thing I care about is how they present their broadcast and I think this is far more indicative than their currently crappy website.

I must have missed that conversation.
Why do you want their website to suck?

the marketplace isn't really demanding more MLS websites
And I selfishly would just as well not have one more to compete with.

That makes sense
Though I think such a site would compete more with MLSsoccer and FoxSoccer than it would SB Nation. SB Bloggers have FAR more character than those outlets ever could.

I think he was speaking as SBN's soccer editor.
Which includes the main pages and not just the blogs.
My platform still stands
the tone of SBN articles is totally different from that of more corporate outlets.

As a non-cable subscriber
I really hope they take a page from ESPN3 and stream/replay the games too. From my initial confused diggings around their crappy website I didn’t see anything like that currently offered.

They have already announced plans to stream games.

If they had good analysis
instead of just parroting FO press releases, I’d love to have another big network site. As it is, most content is just repeated from site to site. Except for SBN, some local newspaper reporters (Sounders have it pretty good there), and a handful of other fan-driven sites.

Audio was not TA
The whole stadium says home of the timbers, instead of brave. This is said during every game.
Liked the commercial and love the move from fox to NBC. Bring on the season!!!!
Brek Shea doesn't deserve to be in the same promo with Fredy

Nevermind his hair,
he’s also pretty good at soccer.

The Goal
Every time NBC posts one of these promos I am immediately reminded of the single greatest Sounders video ever: http://bit.ly/woO68o #thegoal
Section 120, Row G, Seat 13

Yeah that one never gets old
You will hear us on Brougham, you will hear us on Occidental, you will hear us on King. Our yachts are all around you, there is no escape.
That
is a great video! Is there one of Ozzie’s goal as well?
Here's one from the US Soccer youtube page... I couldn't find anything edited as awesomely as the first however

I was in the Hawk's Nest that night,
I had a great view, but it’s crazy to see it from such a different angle. Man, I’m ready for the season to start!
I still get tingles watching that.
The memories of my section (hell, the whole stadium) going nuts when that went in will live with me forever.

Agreed
I still have the game DVRd and sometimes turn it on just to listen to the roar of the crowd on the two goals, chills every time. This game and Fredy’s header in stoppage time against the Fire in 2010 are my two most emotional moments at Sounders games. I will never forget them.

The future of this league
Is just so freaking exciting to think about. Love the emphasis (hopefully) NBC is giving the league. But I may never forgive them for taking Arlo.
National Anthem
On the topic of national anthems…
Season 1 of MLS the Sounders had my all time favorite national anthem. Now they pipe extra audio through the speakers and I hate it. Dr. Stephen Michael Newby is amazing and awesome. It should be just him and the fans.
Anyone else agree?

What about a sign language guy along side him?
There’s this kid who just got his sign language degree in my section, hes does the song for us and his dream is to do it on the field.
Accessible?
Oops… Meant to just say theyneedto get it more accessible as NBC sports is currently relegated to the top tiers of Dish and others.

It's about twice as accessible as Fox Soccer...
You don’t need a special subscription to get it and most cable packages seem to include it on a relatively low tier, at least in comparison to other specialty channels. Definitely not perfect, but a huge upgrade.

Anything has to be better than fox soccer
It amazes me that soccer coverage could be so bad on a channel that is supposed to focus on soccer.
Yeah, got a few goosebumps
Again, better than a few non household name players juggling in a tunnel. I’m never going to forget that one I guess, the more I see that are good, the more I think back to that as an example of bad.
