Darwin Jones, DeAndre Yedlin, Troy Peterson Sign With Sounders U23
We're fully expecting a lot more announcements like this one in the near future, but right now it looks like Sounders Academy products Darwin Jones, DeAndre Yedlin and Troy Peterson are among the first players to sign up with the Sounders U23 team which will begin play this summer spring and is holding tryouts on March 10-11.

Not being a jerk here
But “used to play” isn’t exactly going to cut it against people who still play….

I really want to see how his defense has developed
His on ball offensive skills were amazing last year

I've never seen him play but one thing that has concerned me about Yedlin how similar will he be to Tetteh
Tetteh was seen as a great attacking Fullback at the college level, but it turns out he was never much of a defender. College players can have giant holes in their game. I hope under Porter Yedlin is being coached up to increase his defense instead of just focusing on how good he is going forward. When he gets to the next level he is going to need those defensive skills.
"The fans are excited. And the stadium, well, it ignites with explosion."
He needs to improve it
No question about that. It was much better towards the end of the year than the beginning so hopefully that’s a positive trend.

Just a thought about the U23s
They can have a couple players over 23 on the team, right? So, lets say the team buys out OBW this season, but he slowly recovers and gets to the point where he can play and some time on the field would help him continue recovering, get sharp, whatever. Could he sign on with and play with the U23s at that point to return to match fitness?
Actually they can have eight players on the team over 23
So this may be a possibility. However, I would think they’d have him play reserve league games before they had him play U23 games simply because there’s less of them.
I met a possum.

Why not both?
If he gets to that point, I’d think more games is better when it comes to being ready for the following year.
Why not both?
Because then he’d be a pro and an amateur at the same time?
